MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 4:32 AMI noticed that as Holloway approaches the crew with his arms raised in the IMAX trailer, he has features resembling those of an SJ/Blue Guy. What are your thoughts?

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 4:45 AMHe certainly looks very similar facially to the giant blue guy from some of the other scenes. I wander if it because it is an Engineer/Human mutation and the other Engineers have the trunk nose...............

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 4:48 AMI hope to god not. I'll be so disappointed if the space jockey turns out to be a mutated human. I prefer that they discover an actual alien, not just fucking goo that turns a human being into another being. That just seems cheap. He's already used a similar formula to introduce an alien in 'Alien'.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 5:03 AMhe may be changing into dr.evil instead, lol.
i want to se something new and cool. like how the alien was the first of its kind and changed aliens and monsters to this day as we know it.
seems like most of them looked almost exactly like people (star trek and such) or they were just big ball/mound shaped things with or without fur ( lost in space types).
all the ideas cant be taken right? there must be a way to create a creature thats original and unique again.
after the biomech alien everyone wants to rip it off lol. i was hoping for something new and unique in this movie i hope they arent just all mutants :/
im pretty disapointed with the big humanoid blue guy supposedly being the jockey. id rather they looked like the suit does, or something weird like the squid baby.... or something like krang.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 5:07 AM@belladonna That Krang idea had me dying. I too am disappointed in the whole SJ suit deal, but I think Ridley has a surprise for us in the way of a new and original creature. Let's hope

I thought it blatantly obvious that the space jockeys exist as some kind of bio-technological creature and the technology they harness transforms the humans into proto-aliens.
A friend of mine's uncle works at the studio as a driver, and told him the main twist in a "you already know this don't you?" kind of way. I've told my mate not to tell me what it was, but told him my theories about people transforming being the main twist etc, and he said "not even close".
Which is encouraging.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 6:01 AMhaha glad you liked it. it would be interesting to see that slug creature in the trailer operating an SJ suit.
i hope they do have a surprise for us because im not diggin the idea of a member from the blue man group being inside the original jocky fossil in alien.

want-to-see-prometheusNOW!
MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 6:43 AMMy expectations is that Ridley is going to show us something that seems plausible, if not exactly believable. It seems believable to me that if an extraterrestrial life form exists, if not looking exactly like a human being, would at least share some similar physical characteristics. For that reason, I feel Ridley's on track with the blue guy. Or if it did look different from us, we could still recognize something very balanced and sophisticated in its form. I believe that is a characteristic of an advanced life form. I don't believe an alien being with intelligence on a human level or higher would look like a freakin octopus, or how aliens are made to look in Cowboys and Aliens or in Super 8, etc, etc. That's just me...

wow...DO I EVER DISAGREE COMPLETELY WITH ALMOST ALL OF THAT
I THINK IT IS COMPLETE AND UTTER ARROGANCE AND CONCEIPT FOR PEOPLE TO THINK ALIENS WOULD OR SHOULD LOOK LIKE HUMANS OR VICE VERSA
THE WHOLE HUMANOID ALIEN IDEA IS OUTRAGEOUS AND RETARDED TO ME
WHY WOULD SOME LIKE FORM ON MARS LOOK ANYTHING AT ALL LIKE A LIFE FORM ON EARTH?
IT JUST MAKES ZERO SENSE...END OF DICSUSSION FOR ME.
I'T'S NOTHING LESS THAN MAN THINKING BECAUSE ALL THAT MAN CAN SEE IS MAN, THAT ALL THEIR IS IN THE UNVERSE IS MAN...IT'S SO REDICULOUS TO ME IT MAKES ME ANGRY !!!

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 7:14 AMSpartacus,
Well, it's not because I think human beings have a higher or special place in the universe or anything, so I don't think it's because of arrogance that I believe that. I just think it seems plausible. Who's to say that the micro-organisms that created us aren't somewhere else in the galaxy floating around in space on asteroids and making it's way onto newly formed planets. Also, I believe that there's a natural law, that more advanced life forms take on a more balanced and complex physical appearance that is sophisticated in its form, human looking or not. When we see it, it's form would reflect something advanced even if we don't find something in common with it physically.

want-to-see-prometheusNOW!
MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 7:17 AMOr maybe it's because I lack imagination that I feel that way, but this is what I honestly believe and I make no apologies for it. To me Ridley's depiction of an extraterrestrial intelligence in this film seems plausible.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 7:25 AMall great points and perhaps i am too passionate about this and i have great respect for those replies...more importantly you kept cool and addressed my points with counterpoints and I love that...well done...and it makes me want to see this from your end far more now...i also apologize to you...for someone who does not know me it can be tough to deal with me because i am so opinionated and forcefull...it ALL COMES FROM THE RIGHT PLACE THOUGH...so thanks for sticking to your guns and setting me straight on your stance, I have GREAT RESPECT for you for handling this the way you did...I was quite rough with you...my apologies.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 7:42 AMNo big deal, man. It's cool. I think there was some misunderstanding over the origin of my views, but I made it clear, so.
I enjoy reading the conversations and being around people who share an interest in this new film. I'll make a comment when I feel like I have something to say, but I have no expectations. I don't expect anyone to agree with what I say or respond at all. If they think what I say is dumb or not worth their attention, it's cool. I'm just some anonymous guy on a web forum, anyway. I'm not expecting to become chummy with anybody. I just want to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of this forum. Because we only have 2 more months to speculate about the film. So let's enjoy!

MemberDeaconApr-04-2012 8:07 AMI guess we will find out soon enough.
There does seem to be a simularity to the Eel/Worm that gets into the Space Suit and also the tiny version of it seen in Holoways eye.
We dont know the order of the scenes and so from that Holloway image where he seems to be swelling up in his face and head like Fifleid Mutatation, maybe his swelling goes down and he then has the kissing scene with Shaw or maybe thats before the infection?
If its before the infection scene and indeed Holloway changes simular to Fifield then how can that acount for Shaw getting pregnant? Unless the Organism gets her Pregnant.
So is this Organism changing the crew into
1) Proto Alien
2) Space Jockey/Blue Guy (makes little sence)
3) Some other kind of mutation.

Are you sure that's actually Holloway?
The shape, relative chest proportions and hips seem quite feminine...I think it may be Mudow?

aintnozeno
MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 9:39 AMIt may not be Holloway...
But whoever it is- they are wearing Holloway's helmet. His name is embossed on the top of his head.

What?
You see that, in this picture?
As far as the top is concerned, all I see is some kind of lighting/instrument/other rig following the inner surface and, presumably, some kind of camera on the outer surface...

DEREZZ
MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 1:25 PM@allinamberclad I believe this is Holloway because of the reason aintnozeno pointed out. His head guard under the helmet says Holloway. Right click the image to view in another tab or window to see it full size. If you zoom in a bit, it's clear that the name is Holloway.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 1:33 PMamazing, just amazing, this whole "thingy"/film/experience/ is sooo amazing...and as we get closer the best part looms, the day after, when we re explore who had it right and who didn't, that's goinna be so funny and so much fun.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 2:20 PMLooks like he's aging. And no, I'm not tying this to the old man in some of the other pics, where it's obviously Guy Pearce.

MemberOvomorphApr-04-2012 2:27 PMI think the old guy is going to be Holloway. Guy Pearce has already said that he isn't in the film for very long....
