Thank you so much for sharing! I've been wondering about the score. I have to say, I like the idea of "choral", because the music played in the UK trailer was really haunting to me, in combination with that signature high-pitched sound.

Clearly this would just be some minor overdubbing, as the "score" has been written and is in the can. This might even be just some choral overdubs for some dramatic parts of the movie...

yes, but these little touches can make all the difference in a film. It's a good sign I think.

Fantastic. Streitenfeld is one big question mark for the film. The potential is there, but this score will likely be the highest profile thing he's ever done. I'd hope for a mix of Goldsmith and Goldenthal, but if that were the objective, Marco Beltrami should have gotten the assignment. We'll see. Just glad to hear there is a choral element--lends itself to the height of epic.

Bringing in Harry Gregson-Williams (Kingdom of Heaven) to add some additional choral elements is brilliant news. Not saying we are talking about Kingdom of Heaven style choral additions, but any vocal of this nature hints toward a certain style of film mood or emotion. I guess I don't see this as a small bit of information. Big themes on a grand stage.
Even more excited for the film/score now.

I agree. Have you seen There Will Be Blood? Those crazy violin parts in the beginning added so much strangeness and suspense. I'd love to hear some really strange/creepy choral stuff. It could add so much if done properly.

I think Goldenthal's score for Alien3 is as good as it gets.
I know that film has a monastic element, so it fits rather well. The question with regard to Prometheus is, what element might RS be punching up. I'd guess something akin to discovery, or possibly of a spiritual nature. Top end of that: being confronted by your maker? Anyone's guess, but choral elements are as indicative of mood as anything I've read.

Good call on the 2001 scene. That definitely qualifies as otherworldly/weird. Changes the tone completely.
