Funny as heck! Wondering if Ridley is figuring how to write this into the sequel to Prometheus!
BTW pareidolia is the term used for finding familiar objects out of natrually occurring elements.

MemberOvomorphApr-07-2012 8:12 AMit's all what we see and how we percieve...I recall one of the NY newpapers (not the NY Times) published a photograph of one of the Twin Towers that showed what appeared to be a devil in the billowing smoke and it made the front page after the 9/11 attacks. Also, how many stories to we see where someone sees Jesus in a bowl of soup or is seen in the bark pattern of a tree stump? The fact that it was percieved as a elephant doesn't make it any more of a marketing campaign and for what? Seen in a different time of the day or season, you might not even recognize it. I am inclined to think it is exactly what it is...a lava flow that looks like an elephant when the satellite snapped the photo. Perhaps a mere hour later after the photo was taken, it might just blend in with the rest of the environment. Just the mere fact that I thought it looked like sj, someone else might tend to agree here in this forum. This is just a naturally occurring rorschach test. I do like you comment about pareidolia is what most of us are doing here trying to dissect and reverse engineer movie clips and formulate what the underlying meaning of the film is. Ridley is ingenious with the way he is doling out bits and pieces without giving away too much and baiting people so they will go see the movie. Looks like it will be a block buster this summer!
