The Derelict is meant to represent a Womb with the branches off going to the ovaries, the main entrances are the shape of a vulva, the original egg opening was meant to be a vagina opening not petals but they felt a vagina was a tad too much.

I see it as the derelict dropping or shooting eggs out of the middle part(the vagina/space jockey penis canon). Yep, Im a silly person. Also, are those space jockeys in the picture?
