Toward the end of the scene in the Derelict ship where we were first (briefly) introduced to the 'Space Jockey' , right before Kane descends into the egg silo, specifically in the shot where we get a slow zoom-in on the Jockey's face/helmet, has anybody else watching ever had the feeling, despite looking slightly fossilised AND not to mention the huge gaping Zeno-hole in its chest, that somewhere in those fossilised remains was still a conscious being?
Even back when I still thought that the SJ was some kind of exo-skeletal elephantine paraplegic beast and NOT just some lanky blue humanoid in a bio-suit, when i see the afore mentioned zoom-in shot I would get a chill down my spine and think to myself 'what if that thing is still alive?' (as if everything about the scene on the derelict ship isn't chilling enough)
So, now that we can pretty much say that the jockey IS a humanoid in some kind of bio-mech armour, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the conclusion to Prometheus suggests that the Jockey WAS still alive when we saw him in Alien, possibly in some sort of stasis.
Maybe the Jockey uses the Bio-suit as a means to sustaining their life in the event of Zeno-impregnation, or maybe the Zeno embryos are transferred via the Bio-suit and they spend eternity churning out the little chest bursting buggers we're all dying to see, this idea also ties in nicely when paralleled to the greek myth with the eagle and the self-regenerating liver. And I suppose if the last idea turns out to be right that would make the SJ's Bio-suit the original facehugger or 'bodyhugger' lol! They even said in Alien that Kane's facehugger was 'keeping him alive'
