On my Blu-ray boxset it's the 1990 Special Edition version and yes I agree it does indeed look like a space jockey. I guess it is in fact just a rock formation but I'd love it to be the former.

I also thought it was rock but the way its eyes are carved out and that trumpet nose. It's also weird how the camera pans right onto it before moving to newt's parents getting out of their vehicle.

Cameron didnt make ANY references to Jock.........thats why Riddles is doing it. And will probably mess it up too. There.....thats a spanner in the proverbials lol
