After the collision?

If you watch carefully you can see Vicker's escape pod being ejected while the Prometheus is on it's way towards it's fatal collision, but then what? Where does the story go after that? What challenges face them? I can only assume that the collision/crash scene marks the beginning of the final act of the film...
Thoughts?

My guess is when the collision and the fall back to earth it creats a washing maching type effect on all of the urns and the contents that were loaded on the Derilict. It becomes a sesspool of some wild ass looking shit that will come running out of there attacking each other and Shaw and Vickers.

Vickers and Shaw are shown in the trailer running from the Jockey's ship after it has crashed in to the ground. My guess is that Vickers and Shaw got to the ground in the EEV and then the ship came crashing down on them after Prometheus crashes in to it. It could be the final act of the film, or maybe the final act is something that was completely left out of the trailers all together?

...then Shaw and Vickers look up and see they've been stranded in the ass-end of space for nothing...as at least one other 'derelict'-type ship emerges from it's underground hide-out too... DAMN!
Who knows dsjohnson84?, but I guess the ending depends a lot on whether the craft seen in the trailers is meant to be the ACTUAL 'derelict' seen in ALIEN, or not. My own take is that it isnt...

Yeah I don't think it is either simply because of RS stating that in the original Alien that the derelict ship didn't crash, it landed...
BUT who knows? Perhaps there is ANOTHER ship in the movie? I doubt it for some reason.
All I know is that June 8th can't come soon enough and I'm so mad it's more than a month away!

I've been thinking about this too. I'd imagine they'll be running back to the temple to stop something like Noomi shouts in the trailer.

do we kow if Shaw is aboard either ship at the time of the collision? i'm wondering if she gets to the surface on the interlocking roof fans as the ship takes off and then orders the prometheus to collide, somehow knowing she has to get onboard the crashed engineer ship to finish a job?

I dont think Shaw is on Prometheus leading up to the collision.
She is ALREADY on the the ground and practically falls in when the hangar opens up to reveal the alien vessel emerging.
Ohhh... Heres a thought... That could very well be ANOTHER vessel emerging from the ground a later point!! Dannnh.....Dannnnh..... Daahhhhhhhhhh !

Shaw is definitely on the ground before the collision happens. When she says something along the lines of "you have to stop it or there will be no home left to go back to" I believe she is telling the pilot this from her comm device, encouraging him to do whatever is necessary to stop that ship from leaving the atmosphere.
I would say no to a second ship in this movie, I think it would distract too much from the presence of one ship and would possibly take away from the impact of the collision within the story. But who knows?
