"Inbox" Item Counter Makes Frequent Errors

The Inbox Item counter for example in my Inbox this morning lists (1) email I have not read, and I have opened and clicked on the all 7 or so items there, {it's different each day}, some days it works right, today and many other days it does not. Just FYI.
