Have to agree, very eager to see this now and what the story is etc also to see how much of the story all the folk on here got right by guessing and investigation. Only down side for me is the rating,, if indeed it is PG 13 which im sure it will be or 15 here in the UK, it cant be as shocking etc as it maybe should have been. Saying that the ideas being thrown around are very thought provoking and extreme in a sense, maybe this is why Ridley says it will shock etc. who knows..but cant wait...will it be bigger then Dark knight rising??? that will remain to be seen either way both are going to be my films of 2012 P.S really hope theres an R rated DVD/blue ray, id be suprised if there wasnt.

Prometheus is in a class by itself. I believe we are going to see Ridley Scott as he was when he first arrived on the film scene. Some of his films as of late have not been as great as they could have been, mainly because they're films we've seen before. And now, he's getting back to what he knows, and in my opinion, mastered. The Dark Knight Rises is not even close. We're talking a sci-fi epic versus a gritty superhero crime drama. For originality, my money is on Prometheus.

Prometheus will certainly have originality to it. it will remind us of Alien in bits, but it seems to me like its going to be a scary sci-fi action thriller (a la Event Horizon) as opposed to the sci-fi horror movie Alien was.

Alien was rated R, which I do not understand at all to begin with. Prometheus's trailers look more horrifying than anything in Alien. Some also complain about the potential short running time...Alien was 116minutes!

Yes, I am excited, too. Not excited enough to create a brand new thread just so I can tell people I am excited, but excited nonetheless.
