Life forms in Russian Footage

Wow.. nano-biomechanoids now too?? Im starting to think there is going to be way too much going on here for the average lowest common denominator type of movie audience. I like this!... but.... Hmmmm. Looks like this is a DUNE worm/water of life thingy... Hahaha OK you asked for thoughts.. I think that this world holds a key ingredient for the manipulation of all life on a genetic molecular level. At some point during their rise to prominence, the ENGINEERS come across this place when they venture out into space, and due to their technology and their excessive pride they start to mess around with this stuff... eventually adding in a BIOTECH element with these nano's and other things. I dont think this is the ENGINEERS HOMEWORLD. Not by a longshot... Its a bio-lab, where they catalog their creations and their knowledge.

Further.. I keep seeing a kind of parallel going on here.. Weyland is in effect now attempting to gain the knowledge of how to do exactly what the ENGINEERS had been doing. The ENGINEERS are not Gods. They are just a very advanced species.. and a very nasty one by the info that has come out so far.... and they were probably up to exactly what Weyland is now seeking... UNLOCKING THE SECRET of how to extend their own life... by playing with multiple lifeforms over succesive generations of manipulation.. trying to come up with a specific mix that they could combine with their own DNA and make them stronger? longer lived? immortal???

I think by the time of the Prometheus "visit".. the ENGINEERS have already been nearly completely overwhelmed by whatever they were toying with. Who knows... OLD WEYLAND may have even gained some knowledge of this before the actual mission?? The complete dichotomy of the pursuits noted in the Weyland timeline....from the young completely benevolent peace serving Weyland to the almost war mongering, conquest of the entire universe mentality Weyland, are very telling IMO.

Nice ideas Phill ;) I would assume that the Engineers did create mankind and we was another experiement maybe early in time. Maybe created without the knowledge of the other Engineers.... I mean there could be some scientist on Earth who could be created a hybrid animal right now that mainstream science and the most powerfull Goverments know nothing about. Something has happend to the Engineers, have they had a conflict with themselves, have they started to mess about with stuff to far and had one experiement go wrong or a series of events that unleashed untold matter of Organisms that caused the downfall of their race. Years latter maybe thousands after what ever happened, Mankind finds their planet (or one of their labs) LV223. Something has awoke one or more Engineers, who now know about us, if they did not already but now they know that we can get to their System on our own, we know where it is and thus taking out Prometheus and its crew will not stop us comming back. They release we can create life as in Synthetics and we have ambitions to extend our knowledge and we will use or attempt to use what ever Experiments and Findings that the Engineers had left behind to further our own species... (we will become the Gods now). Something like this is what must upset the Engineers and they set out to stop us as they cant have our race advancing more than their dying race. Maybe that, or indeed the Engineers are not what we expect and they created us and need our bodies, or souls or they need us for some purpose.

Why oh why is that idiot handling some creature they have never seen before, on a planet they've never been to? Where is Apone when you need him? Maybe that thing plays dead so it can lure in curious hosts.

So we have the classical urn, that is made from or can leek the BioTech or can transform into black goo when the atmosphere of the room is breached. Perhaps the nano tech goo is utilised to safely transmit the DNA of the alien life form contained in the ampule shaped translucent vials which have a shroud or sheath of alien gooey gupp between them and the urn. The engineers keep these in a room with a huge almost religious looking head of themselves or one of there gods or.. well.. who if not them?
