Why the staggard release dates?

It's not unusual, for instance Spain normally has sooner's releases than France, but this time it's the contrary! I think the different release dates are decided folowing marketing priorities and local factors like holidays . Cheers!

Man, I'm lucky I'm only having to give sites like this a complete bodyswerve for only a couple of days before it gets released here in the U.K. on 1st June. But it's gonna be difficult to avoid complete plot spoilers for those that won't get to see it until much later.

May 29 will be the start of my self-imposed internet blackout...I won't want to know even as small a detail such as how it is doing at the boxoffice in another country. My knowledge base of officially released trailers and images is limited to the point where a press event was held in London apparently showing extended footage of some sort...I didn't read what it was or what was said by the people there. The last trailer I saw was David's trailer which I downloaded but held off viewing for a few days...I got weak, is my excuse. So my theories are all based on that exposure combined with Ridley's comments stretching back about 20 years. If I could turn the clock back I would. I saw Alien in 1979 with exactly one vague magazine article and the egg poster in my mind. Thanks to Drax for the post and Kane for the schedule
