Hello everyone, Long time lurker, first time thread maker. Anyway, I have been pondering concept of Prometheus and the possible connection with the Greek myth. The thought occurred to me that the metomorphical "Prometheus" of the story may in fact be the engineers or "space jockeys" themselves. Perhaps they are the ones whole stole "fire" from an even more advanced being. This "fire" being a specific sequence in our DNA (HAR 1?). The "gods" punished the engineers with something truly diobical. Something which our fateful team of explorers blindly stumble into on LV-223. Something unexpected. The supposed invitational pictograms being a warning to stay away. Jockey in Alien dead. Jockey carcasses littering the temple on LV-223. From the looks of the trailer, something bad went down well before the crew of the Prometheus set down. Again, just food for thought.

interesting theory if that turns out to be the case, it conjures up even bigger questions, we would see somewhat into what caused the Jockey in ALIEN to end up how it ended up but the broader question would be who did that to the Jockeys, that pile of dead Jockeys in the trailer lends a bit of credence to your theory hopefully, time will tell us what is what, can not wait...!

Nice idea, why do we all assume the story pertains exclusively to us (humans)? Humans as collateral damage...nice twist!

Love the ideas ! And it would support the Ridley quote that the film has unanswered questions... However it doesn't make sense with the derelict heading to Earth to destroy it, or the shots of the rejuvenated SJ activating things and beating Rapace.

Love the ideas ! It would definitely add credence to Ridley's quote that there are unanswered questions... However it doesn't work with the derelict heading to Earth to destroy it or the SJ beating up Rapace (if it is an SJ)

Theres what appears to be a headless Jockey in the new trailer too.....im sure we`ll find out how that came to be given that the hologram seems to be a recording of previous events.

"metomorphical" I really like the idea of those images being warnings to stay away. "Here! This place right here! See these stars? Do not go there! Where? Here! Don't go here under under any circumstances. I'm totally serious, guys. This place right here that I am pointing to - don't go there!"
