Just an observation but the Weyland logo has 'winged' sides similar to the Snake/Cobra sides. Perhaps an expedition did take place in the past to the extent that Peter Weylands obsession filtered through to the logo of his empire?

That snake thing reminds me a whole lot like the alien from the movie The Puppet Masters from 1994 which was a remake of a 1951 film I believe. The aliens attached themselves to the back of your head and controled your brain.
