- Alien 2.5
2. Rough Outline
A ship drops into orbit on LV-426. As it flies by the name comes into view, U.S.S. Sulaco. The ship comes to a stop outside the planet and the camera zooms to the side of the ship and beneath it just in time to see a small ship drop from the U.S.S Sulaco and into LV-426’s atmosphere.
The camera goes into the ship, through the hole that was just opened by the drop ship. It travels through the loading dock, through the kitchen (where they ate their meal), into the cryo-chamber (where they slept), and to a door that is marked “restricted” “Level 7 Authorization Required.”
The door opens and the camera travels down a long hallway with 3 doors at the end making a pentagon (see diagram 1). The camera zooms on each door’s label (left-to-right) as the lights come on. Door one reads “Specimen Storage,” door two reads “Lab,” and door three reads “Synthetic Storage.”
As we read the third door it opens and eight individuals walk out and turn down the tunnel towards the “restricted” door. The camera is focused on their chests (where the door label once was) and rotates around and down the hall once the last individual leaves the room. We do not see their faces but just the backs of their heads which are eerily familiar (Bishop’s haircut and build).
We follow them through the cryo-chamber, into the kitchen, and onto the loading dock. We follow them past another drop ship, without the weaponry, and onto an APC outfitted as a mobile science lab. We follow the last one onto the APC and he turns to strap himself into the seat. As he sits we come face-to-face with a Synthetic that looks exactly like Bishop. The camera rotates around and we see 5 more “Bishops” strapped into their seats. As this is happening the APC drives onto the drop ship and stops. “Bishop’s” voice counts down, “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” “Mark” and the drop ship leaves the ship and travels through the atmosphere of LV-426.
The ride is extremely turbulent but the ship touches down in a remotely calm clearing in the otherwise jagged planet. The rear hatch opens and the APC drives out over sharp rocks and a rough surface. Eventually it comes to a stop and the rear opens up showing the crashed derelict alien spacecraft.
The scene fast-forwards and shows short clips of 8 different “Bishops” working in and around the derelict alien spacecraft.
- 1 sitting in the command seat in the APC and monitoring the
others’ statuses and helmet cams.
- 2 and 3 walking through the halls of the ship analyzing the walls.
- 3 and 5 analyzing the control panels and dead SJ body.
- 6 and 7 walking through the egg chamber below the ship.
- 8 sitting in the cockpit of the drop ship and listening to the
communication from the other 7.
Suddenly multiple messages appears on the monitor in the drop ship.
- [i]Bishop: Pupa specimen analysis complete. Adult
Specimen’s
defensive capabilities documented. Colonists’ medical and defensive
records obtained. Unable to upload to main frame from present
terminal. Burke reports 2 successful implantations and requesting
IMMEDIATE EVAC from medical.
- Command: Proceed with drop ship recall. Isolate infected.
Return to U. S. S. Salaco.
The scene fast-forwards and the Synthetic crew begin to pack up their findings and settle into the APC. The biggest thing noticeable is the body/suit of the SJ and 4 eggs.
A message appears on the drop ship screen.
- Bishop: Negative on implantation. Awaiting orders?
- Command: Survivors?
- Bishop: 1 Military, 1 Advisor, 1 Civilian. Military in serious but stable
condition.
- Command: Return with all survivors. Proceed to medical, then
Cryo.
Scene cuts to the Synthetic crew quickly unloading all the finding down the hall and into two of the three rooms. Moment later one Synthetic notes that the other drop ship has returned.
As the eggs are being secured, a horrific scream can be heard from down the hall. Several loud bangs and screams continue. All the Synthetics rush into the lab and surround a big monitor. In wonderment they stare at the new specimen in awe. One Synthetic rushes over to a monitor and begins typing.
- Synthetic: New specimen discovered on U. S. S. Salaco. Possible
higher hierarchy specimen. Awaiting orders?
- Company: Secure specimen at all costs. Crew expendable.
Just as the Synthetic group was getting organized the airlock alarm is sounded. The Synthetics look at each other and once again rush over to the monitor. They are just in time to see the Queen being flushed out the airlock and into space. One Synthetic rushes over to the monitor again.
- Synthetic: New Specimen terminated by survivors. Awaiting
orders?
- Company: Proceed with prior order. Implant remaining hosts in
Cryo and freeze. Report to Science Station Schrödinger.
The next seen shows three eggs being transported down the hall to the Cryo room. The camera goes past four Cryo tubes. Three just showing feet (2 adults and 1 child) and the fourth a mangled mess of tubes from Bishop.
The eggs are wheeled to the foot of the closed Cryo tubes and stopped. The Synthetics are documenting everything. Just as they prepare to open the Cryo tubes, all three eggs open. Three facehuggers go flying across the room towards the Cryo tubes. Two hit the outer covering and suction themselves to the tubes trying to get inside (much like the scene with Burke in Medical). The third hits the tube so hard that it cracks the outside glass and bounces off to the ground.
As the facehugger is running wildly around the room, the Synthetics are trying to corral it. One of the Synthetics yells to open the Cryo tubes and let it attach itself. Just as one lunges for the freed facehugger, it runs under some grading on the floor. In the process of its escape, a small cut materializes. The acid immediately starts a fire and the room begins to fill with smoke. Alarms are sounding, smoke is filling the room, and emergency lights are flashing.
Suddenly, the three Cryo tubes close and are pulled back into the wall. The emergency safety procedures have already been activated and the three tubes are placed within a larger pod. The pod is shot out into space. The screen cuts to inside the pod. Slowly hovers over each Cryo tube showing two adult individuals with facehuggers on their faces. The third pod has several large cracks and a facehugger suctioned on the outside of the glass trying to get inside.
The pod travels to “Fury” where it crash lands into a swampy area. It is a very dark and baron planet. We flash to inside of the pod. We slowly pan up to Hick’s feet. He has been thrown from his Cryo tube. As we continue to pan up it is evident that a large support beam is running through his chest. At the top of the support beam acid burns scar the beam and the top of the shuttle. Something biological was crushed but it too easily blends into the crash debris to be counted as unusual. Newt’s Cryo tube has been filling up with water and is about at her chin and lips when the camera pans away. It is clear that she will drown in her Cryo tube.
We pan over to Ripley’s Cryo tube. The tube is damaged and half open. She is alive but beat up. The camera zooms out from the wreckage and pans down. A lifeless facehugger lies 20 yards away from the wreckage. A dog sniffs it and is called away by its master who is approaching the wreckage.
The camera explodes off the planet, through the atmosphere, and into space. The camera approaches the U. S. S. Salaco as its coming to rest at the Science Station Schrödinger. Earth sits in the background as the camera approaches the ship. Once again the camera penetrates the hull and goes through the loading dock, through the kitchen, into Cryo (which is damaged), and down the restricted hallway. The door marked as “specimen storage” opens and a single egg sits on an enclosed stand.

MemberTrilobiteMay-02-2012 2:55 PMInteresting theory, but it could never get made, Lance Henriksen is too old now, and it is missing one key element - peril.

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 4:58 PMI know that I wrote it as a movie but I don't think that I ever really attended it to ever be made. It's something that I have always thought about and just made more sense to be written with a movie perspective.
I am a huge fan of the series and think that it could go so many different directions. I just hope they chose a good one! I have been doing a quite a bit of reading lately (fan sites, books, ect.) and decided to put something down on paper one night. I am the furthest thing from a writer. I am a big fan of this site and cannot wait for Prometheus!

MemberOvomorphMay-02-2012 9:55 PMvery creative great job, doing that ain't easy, I know my Father is an novelist with Doubleday and Viking and that was good constructive criticism from Snorky there. There is a little but of peril but not enough...he may be right there.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 10:24 AMthat was a long post...but i dont see how the synthetics could have possibly made it back to the sulaco before bishop ripley and hicks did if they were still on the ground when bishop transmits the survivor count to them (bishop could have only known the count after ripley and newt were on board, and they were already enroute to the sulaco), and when did everyone forget how easily the facehuggers should be able to move through glass?
kanes helmet gave way like paper when the original facehugger got him.

MemberOvomorphMay-03-2012 12:33 PMGameover Man - Good point with the glass! That was one of the characteristics that were not carried over from the first film. I guess I based that characteristic off of the second film. What does everyone think?
Also, the timeline I was thinking for the Salaco return is that Bishop reports to the other synthetics once Ripley and Hicks arrive to the ship before going in to rescue Newt. Giving the Synthetics time to get off the planet and unload the cargo. I will need to edit that part to subtract Newt (1 civilian) from the dialogue. Good catch!
