Isn't it kind of funny though that for every Alien film there has been someone who has either made big comeback or has a legendary track record. Alien- Ridley Scott: Redefined Science-Fiction and Science-Fiction Horror in general, has won some academy awards. Aliens- James Cameron: MY GOD this guy is a monster when it comes to film making. I don't think I even need to explain myself there. Alien 3- David Fincher. Has REALLY comeback from where he once was. The Curious Case Of Benjimin Button, Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. David Fincher has been nominated for multiple academy awards. His directive style is phenomenal. Alien Resurrection: Writer Joss Whedon now coming back ontop with his big film debut on Avengers. Known for Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Did a fantastic job with the television show Firefly and movie Serenity. Recently just got praised for The Cabin In The Woods seems to be getting LOADS of attention now. Whether you liked the last two Alien films or not it definetally seems as though every Alien film has gave birth to some BRILLIANT filmmaker. I think not MANY film series can say that and its such a privilege to be a fan and have fans around who can be part of a film series and say OH HEY yeah he was apart of our favorite film series ALIEN.

Apart from Whedon, I would also mention J.P. Jeunet, who I find a very brilliant director.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

AFter seeing Avengers tonight its hard to believe Whedon Directed that abortion of a film called Alien resurrection. Good for him though.

To be honest, I did love Alien Resurrection, I found it a very good movie.

you´re right. another thing. You can almost recognize their style aswell. i say this with no intention to mock any of the movies despite my own opinions about them. but. ridely scott: one of the first movies he made, there is a freshness to it, something new, pure quality(for a first timer at sci fi). James cameron: Its not a secret that cameron made the dialoge simple and the action grander. But thats his style and he does it well.(compare the grunt dialoge in avatar and aliens). Fincher: Again, here is a dialoge driven director, he takes his time with dialoge and story. if you want you COULD say there is more of "the girl with the dragon tatto" in alien 3 then in the rest of them(catch my drift?) whedon: If you know that before alien ressurection he directed buffy the vampire slayer, you kind of see it in Alien R. there is something tenacious about it. but still it has something.

alls i can say is resurrection has that female pirate character and the scene where you see her gorgeous thick ass while her guy massages her feet, only time ive ever got hard during an alien flick, and it still gets me every time , i fuckin love that chicks ass.
