Just a dream?

E.g. Elizabeth Shaw having an intense nightmare (alien pregnancy maybe) after some exo-traumatic events during the day? Of course, that nightmare may -at the same time- be a glimpse of things to come…
Perhaps we are misinterpreting the trailer.

i had that thought too, just for the very nature of information given from the trailers. I don't think RS would leak out such a major part of the plot... So, yeah, I'm hoping it's a nightmare myself as well

Yes I have thought that a possibilty as well eg when Shaw drops to her knees bloodied and David, Weyland? are in the background?

I think David works for Weyland clearly and will do what he wants or wanted....David feels nothing and has no problem doing unethical things, like making sure squidy gets born! Shaw escapes her captor(s) in the Medbay and cuts squidy out in the Medpod, then attempts to run away.

There is just one flaw in this theory... When Reply had this nightmare in the second film she already knew that this is how the creature emerges. Shaw on the other hand has no idea of what to come when dealing with these new creatures... And it would seem an unlikely coincidence if this turned out to be a nightmare.

Nothing more horrible than cutting yourself open to release an Alien creature that will then attempt to kill you!! Except maybe knowing it's growing inside you while your being held captive under sedation until it is born by ripping you to shreds...EEEEEEEEEK........I mean EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL:O)

I was thinking that very same thing. i believe some of the dramatic scenes with Shaw are nightmares, actually...

i kinda think that david is only programmed to obey his programming, so as hes trying to help, weylands primary commands were in order, like robocop ha. and maybe, maaaybe, in that scene where it seems david is reading her dreams in cryo, he could be putting subliminal clues about this thing and thats how she could fight it. in the trailers she is fighting back to that blue guy.

Im thinking the SJ wont use words with his mouth. Im pretty sure he can just project his thoughts (dreams/nightmares) into the humans' minds. I think there will be kind of a movie within a movie with prometheus. We have the movie itself, but we will also have scenes of pure horror that we are shown just to see what that person is being told and going through mentally. I think those are going to be the most horrific shots.
