I had to sign up because now that premiere time is upon us-- I'm trying to figure out where to watch this thing. I definitely want to watch in 3D, but a little bit of googling hasn't seemed to answer my questions.
My understanding thus far:
IMAX 3D - Linear polarization/doesn't work as well when your viewing angle isn't straight on. Depth pops out at you a lot more, more in your face.
Brighter picture as well? Also apparently theres the "LieMAX" version which is whats installed at most theaters, and then there is the true IMAX3D, which I presume is the bigger screen at special theaters? Also, true IMAX theaters have better audio systems?
Real3D - Circular polarization/you have more freedom to turn your head. Depth seems to move inwards towards the screen, like a window. Audio totally dependent on the theater your at( could be good or bad ).
Dolby3d - I haven't seen it listed anywhere, so its out of the running as far as I'm concerned.
So if I got all that straight, heres what I'm debating. I would love to see prometheus on the largest screen possible,(true imax theater), but not if the image quality will be funky if we don't get the perfect seats.
Apparently prometheus wasn't made for true imax either, so its been converted/stretched to match. Will that be a problem?
Sorry for the rambling, but just want to get the best experience possible. How are you going to watch it? Can anybody knowledgeable give me the lowdown on the true IMAX3D vs Real3d?
