Quite close indeed, though there's a bit of confusion. Zeta 2 Reticuli is a star not a planet, RS mixed things up a bit in that interview. I think he meant a planet around ζ 2 Ret. And LV-223 is a moon of that planet. So LV-426 could be another moon of that planet, or possibly of another planet in the same system.

So it begs the question is the original derelict/juggernaut there while Prometheus is going on or does it happen during the course of the film?

Well if there are two planetoids/moons orbiting around the Zeta II Reticuli 'Gas Giant' (Saturnian like in appearence) planet then does the 'Temple Mount' exist on one of its moons then the SJ tries to get away and for some reason crash-lands upon the other moon and it is there upon where ripley and co. and the Nostromo come across the warning being broadcast.

Though in Alien we see a ringed planet with 3 moons [img]http://i.imgur.com/hAq61.jpg[/img] In the featurette we see only 2 moons (and I find it strange that they don't know or don't show a third one in case it exists).

As for there only being 2 moons, did you ever consider that the third moon could be behind the planet?

I think the derelict/juggernaut is the same and it is going to crash in LV-426 in the ending of this movie.

Well its a Binary Star System and who can say that LV426 is even near that planet it could be around the other binary Sun?

@Big Dave If the Nostromo is near the Zeta II Reticuli system when they set down on LV426 and LV223 is a moon of IO, in that system, Astronomically speaking; they are neighbors.

na. two different ships. two different planets. two different times. no xenomorphs. i dont even rekon the ship in prometheus gets far at all. janek crashes it. everyone is being to obvious.

Can some explain to me how LV223 is a moon if IO? IO is in our solar system

The derelict didn't crash, Scott said so. Forced landing maybe but it didn't crash. I now hope all we see is a company executive saying "Let's go to LV-426 next, signal looks similar/promising/profitable" at some point in the last eleven minutes.

I am under the impression that when Scott says Io he's being cut, so that "Io" could be part of a longer word that has been edited. In any case, the fact that we have an Io already, doesn't necessarily imply that no other planets could be named Io.
