Long time lurker here. I am addicted or perhaps obsessed with this film. They must all die, right? Cos of the impact any survivor would have on the events of the first film. Unless, one of them goes into stasis for even longer than Ripley does after blowing it out the goddamn airlock. Then your sequel could be after the events of A Rez. Which would at least make it easier to forget about staying true to the canon. Although it is only around Saturn, which I hadn't realised, always presumed it was deep space. Just from the trailers, no-one looks in good enough shape to live longe than a couple of hours!

Brigadier, you don't actually think this takes place around saturn do you?? It's the Zeta 2 Reticuli system, some 39 light years away!!

Oh I thought I heard something about it being near IO, which is Jupiter of course, in a trailer. I am v happy to be wrong about this.

Ahhh, well I'm not sure. I've read some very interesting posts today over at PrometheusNews and someone posted the ending from a supposed public test screening. I don't want to spoil anything, but give me a shout if you want me to post it.

I think Shaw survives, but probably is doomed, She has no way to get off LV-223. I think that's how it will end, with her marooned on the planet.

@Brigadier... yeah, Ridley said something about "near io" in one of his recent interviews, but that didn't make sense...he also said the "planet" was "Zeta Reticuli 2", which we know is a star system, not a planet. I don't know where the whole "IO" idea got in his head...

If the escape pod survived...according to the Weyland blurb...it can support life for up to 50 years??...and in luxurious conditions....not sure about food and water though. It could be that the shuttle goes off with any survivor/s and like Ripley....drifts and drifts and drifts, only might not be so lucky as to get picked up by a deep space salvage ship. OR...it does get back, but is hushed up by the corporation finding it to exploit any data....

....how very dare u steal the spotlight from my thread "Who will survive!"....lol...nah it's cool...been reading both!....it's like Vickers says in the trailer...."if u go down their...you will die"....but then she also goes down their....so they all die i guess?

hi there, Juxtapose: If they all die would be cool [no hope for salvation]. Vickers and Shaw could survive... 'till they both die of starvation. Or one of them eats the other... and eventually dies of starvation and regret.

...it's like that nature show guy who got stung by the mantra....he really had it coming.....this dude whom the cobra alien takes to town has the same mentality...shame no disrespect to the dude who got killed by the mantra....i actually liked his fearlessness...!

@Mentos Was it a good ending? I had a look over there but couldn't see anything spoilery, saw some fella/critic say on twitter that it was a great movie though :-)
