I've been lurking here for a long time but just decided to register now just had to post. I'm just in from watching the avengers in the cinema and the main thing I took from the experience was the Prometheus add before the movie lol. I've seen the same add on tv and its epic but seeing the same one in the cinema in 3d a couple of hours ago is just OMG I cannot wait to see this its going to be creepy a f**k too tv does it absolutely NO justice. I have to fly to england as I want to see it in an Imax as they'res none here flights just booked, Imax seats booked weeks ago and its on my birthday to top it off best present ever. End rant lol

Watching the trailer in the theater was one hell of an experience. As soon as it began everyone shut up, the room was dead silent till the end of it.

@Smart...my b'day is the 10th, so yeah, we're doing a world hop and following it with the family, too...in conjunction with our concerts as well, lol...but still!

Yeah mines the 8th. The most anticipated I've ever wanted to see is out on my birthday cheers Ridley lol. Seeing the add in the cinema has just multiplied the anticipation by a million it looks epic real dark and creepy you can get the Ridley Scott feeling from it bigtime.

@ Horrors that's right I also saw the Avengers with the wife and kids and every other trailer up till Prome's came out and people were talking and laughing but as soon as you see the shot of the waterfall and you get that loud as hell WOOOOO SOUND it hits you like a ton of bricks on the chest and then you hear Vickers' famous line about a king has his reign, you know that this is a movie that means business!!!

Its strange today with youtube and other networks or sites that steam the trailer as in the early days a short TV teaser might be shown thou I can’t recall ever seeing an ALIEN 1979 TV short trailer. Today we can feed the video signal from pc to video projector and watch it as large as the screen would allow for in each home. I haven’t seen the trailer when I saw Titanic last month as it wasn’t out at the time. I have seen the trailer at home countless times now, maybe 50 times? Think how much that would cost to see at cinema at least £500.00 with an average ticket now being £10.00 for a 3D film, now then.
