They'll play Tomato Party. On serious note - I think if they want to push the storyline for weyland corporations, they have to quarantine those aliens on that planet.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

I just checked it out...good stuff! If you want to return the favour, check out my youtube video...it features myself walking around New York, dressed in an awesome Xeno costume, with my bro-in-law singing Sting's "Englishman in New York." It's pretty funny.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHks9qKckrs

Actually in all seriousness (aside from the fact that your short film was really weird), it's a question that I've wondered about. Much of the Alien(s) franchise has involved the implied subplot that if Weyland Yutani managed to smuggle a alien specimen to earth, it would be A Very Bad Thing. But when you think about it, it really wouldn't be that big a deal. The Aliens are not invincible. They're killed by fairly regular gun fire (See Aliens). They're fairly stealthy, but they really only have an advantage over humans when (a) the humans don't have guns (Alien and Alien 3) or (b) when the aliens have had chance to embed themselves in a location full of airducts, shafts, dark passages etc before humans show up (see Aliens) In reality, if they got to earth, they wouldn't really be that much of a threat. Think about it - they're fast, stealthy but not immortal. In short, they're no more dangerous than lions or tigers. And have tigers taken over the whole world and wiped out mankind? No. Tigers are an endangered species! If Aliens reached earth, any community with access to weapons (eg any country with an army or armed police) would pretty easily defend themselves. For the same reason, a "Zombie Apocalypse" is logistically impossible.

In fact, I was thinking that what might make for an interesting film would be to explore what how in the event of such an outbreak, the effects of society's fear of Aliens would probably be more far-reaching than the Aliens themselves. E.g. imagine the increased security precautions, the loss of civil liberties, the general paranoia, countries closing their borders and declaring war on each other out of fear of spreading the alien menace, etc etc. It could be a kind of modern-day terrorism parable. And just as Aliens took a different approach to Alien (eg action shoot-em-up rather than suspenseful horror), maybe such a film could spin the franchise off into the political field. Sounds wacky, but why not? Perhaps Weyland-Yutani could be the bad guy in it all, manipulating public fear to consolidate control of markets and governments?

The problem with dealing with aliens if they ever got to Earth is that every population centre, from the smallest village to the hugest metropolis, has an ideal location for a hive, the sewer system. It's true that aliens can be dealt with by military forces, but they are notorious for not wandering about in the open, unless they have overwhelming numbers (eg the initial attempts to get past the sentry guns, or the 'flashback' scene on the pyramid in AVP). If they infected a major population centre, you can't easily take the 'nuke the site from orbit' option either.

@EAiNY: Your Tiger/Alien comparison does not work because: a) Most tigers do not go out of their way to eat humans, they try to avoid them. b) Tigers do not need humans for continuing their species, whereas xenos do (or whatever other good-sized animal is handy) in horrendous ways. c) I _wish_ Tigers had acid for blood. That would take them off the Asian medicinal black market at least. I understand the point you're making. Perhaps it's better to compare xenos with highly evovled forms of ebola or AIDS viruses on legs because THERE the "scare" factor makes more sense (in a totally nonsensical way). Man, this is the nerdiest premise I've ever come up with. I'm going to bed.

Check out the book Aliens: Earth Hive http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aliens-Earth-Hive-Steve-Perry/dp/1857981391/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337460508&sr=8-1 and its two sequels. They surmise that it would be very bad news if the Aliens ever made it to Earth. All three books are also very entertaining.

From re-watching Aliens again, I learned never to underestimate the Aliens, sure Earthlings have their hi-tech weapons, but the Aliens have the cunning ability to get the upper hand on the humans, so with that in mind I think the Aliens would have the advantage. Those Aliens are pretty persistant.

Unfortunately for the Aliens, the Earth is not compromised of air ducts and dark tunnels. They'd have to spread to open areas eventually, and they would be dealt with pretty easily by Apache helicopters, tanks, APCs, militias, National Guard The Aliens cunning ability to get the upper hand has been dependent on close, dark spaces, and contrivances by the writers. They would cause their fair share of havoc and death, but they just don't have the equipment to maintain forever.

If I use New York as an example. As of now, the city has a population of almost nine million. If we assume only 1% is impregnated, that gives a hive size of 80,000 warriors, and if you throw dogs into the equasion probably be 100,000+. There's 6,000 miles of sewer system, maybe even the subway if has fallen out of use by 2179. Plenty of places to hide. If you want to get them into open ground, you'd need to surround the entire city with overwhelming firepower everywhere. The military though would probably be sent in to cover a civilian evacuation otherwise they would be facing millions of aliens. If in streets, with limited fields of fire, the advantage is back with the aliens.

... if Aliens invaded NY, it would turn into a Hive in weeks and spread and spread. Technology cannot not standup to the brutal nature of the aliens.
