But they say its a new story, so if it doesn't focus on xenos or the space jockey very much its obviously a new race of aliens like i have said in my theory thread. It has to mention something about the creation of them though right? They cant just not explain it after so long. The goo didn't just magically appear in the cannisters so the SJ obv created it, whether they then made anything else is another question. Again they talk about creation and the idea of ancient aliens coming here and there's this thing from the leaked plot where the SJ create us, whether that's true idk cause the rest seems bullshit but that's why we look so much like them.

I can concurr with that sukkal. What is on this planet and LV-426 may be distant cousins in regards to evolution. There may be no recognizable chronological order of events from Prometheus leading to Alien.

It def has something to do with either androids or space jockeys butttttttttt, the ship on LV-426 has been there for ages right? How is the pilot chestbursted if the xenomorph comes from the android on a completely different place.

I haven't commented on this in the other threads, so I'll throw in my 2¢ here. I think Rawr's point is a very strong one. The ship on LV-426 is presumably much older than the events of [i]Prometheus[/i]. I'll be very ready to speculate on this again AFTER I see how the Engineer does or doesn't interact with David. I also see what appears to be an embryonic form of of the facehugger coming out of one of the urns by David's hand, so I think the xenos are already rather fully formed in this timeline. (Note: this is usually obscured (darkened) when we see it, but I think this is the actual shot from the film.) I think the theory on space jockeys as a race has gone too far. I don't see that playing out in the script aside from space jockey being engineer in suit. For all I don't know, perhaps there is no engineer race either. Just a primordial goo left behind that transforms DNA upon contact.

I believe that could be a clue that the xeno technology is not necessarily an invention of the Engineers (or the creators of the Engineers), but rather something that they (at least partially) acquired from somewhere else. They clearly are very highly skilled genetic engineers, but I feel that something about the xenos of 1979 is likely 'alien' to them as well. They seem to have suffered at the hands of the xeno's too. They may not be capable of fulling controlling their own weaponry. They also seem to worship something about the xenos. The leaked credits indicate that the role of one of them is "Sacrifice Engineer." That leads me to believe that one of them will commit a sacrifice during the holographic playback that is observed by David. I suspect that it is a sacrifice TO something that is related to the xenos. It is rare for a culture to sacrifice to something of its own creation. They are traditionally done as [u]appeasements[/u] to some power that is perceived as superior. SPOILERS :: SPOILERS :: SPOILERS

Well that does work into the whole prometheus myth, they stole the substance from the "gods" whether its gods within this story or some other even more advanced species who knows and he was punished by means of the chestburster growing back every day and bursting out. Depends if its to be taken as a truth within the story, or just a metaphor.

However it is portrayed, I suspect it won't dissapoint.
