In the control room, we see the hyper sleep pods of the SJ. Those hyper sleep pods have holes in them at the chest level. This indicates that the type of chestburster we saw in Aliens was/is on the planet.

this means that the remain sj killed the alien. hence his head towers over all.

this is also why fified or holloway turn into a big sj. the alien dna is mixed with sj dna at this point.

then it goes to humans, then the actual xeno is born out of people's chests.

and holloyway/fifield are spared anything coming out of their chest because the xeno needs them to get to other humans. and it knows this. same reason in alien it took a little while for the first guy who went to actually have something burst out of his chest.
