MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 12:46 PMWhat if the Juggernaut crashes into the Prometheus?
Here me out: In the trailers, yes, Shaw says "if we don't stop it, there won't be any home to go back to.", but she could be saying that because Vickers says "take us home!"
So, Vickers and Janek take off because they don't wanna be around for whatever is going to happen with Shaw still on the planet.
Juggernaut lifts off and intercepts the Prometheus, Vickers hops into the escape pod and lands on the surface with Shaw, Janek dies?

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 12:53 PMBut, how?
We see Prometheus aim itself like a dart, while the alien ship hangs in the air like a soft target - until, furthermore, we see Prometheus give the ship a kiss while it's engines are raging at full power?
I dunno...I can only interpret that, the one way.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 12:58 PMVery true, but it was just a thought.
My thinking is, the Jockeys/blue guy knew that on board the Prometheus was their technology. So they do the ramming to stop them from leaving with their technology

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 1:05 PMIt just doesn't seem very credible, based on what we've seen.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 1:30 PMThe trailer could be edited to give false impression deliberately. Who is the good guys who is the bad guys? Weyland & team want to bring the alien organism for further study to Earth, the other team, Shaw and maybe possibly Vickers are against it, maybe due to the requirement of painful labor of a female carrier. They are like the dynamic duo, the post-feminist feminists? OK, coffee, 2 cups already. Weyland gets on Prometheus and sets for Earth. Shaw gets on the only craft available which is the Juggernaut to stop Prometheus. Maybe Prometheus giving fire to humankind is not the benevolent act as it is first expected. Maybe Prometheus is a misguided idealists, or Satan himself.

*sigh* - yes, but there's "Tricksy Editing", and then there's, "Making, Literally, No Sense - At All"?
"They're leaving", [so, presumably, "they", have a head start].
"If we don't stop them, blah, blah", [so, evidently, the humans intend to give chase].
But, then, with both vessels in the air, the crew of the alien ship just forfeit their obvious head start - in order to turn around and ram the human ship, and also ram themselves out of the sky in the process?...
Possibly while screaming the alien equivalent of, "DOH!..", as they plummet to the deck?....
I just find it a little hard to accept.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 3:30 PMJuggs is bigger than Prometheus...by a long shot. I don't think Janek would be that dumb to ram his ship...his only means off that rock...into something that big. Unless of course you go the other route, and he's disobeying Vickers order to go home.
@allinamberclad
The "They're leaving comment" I don't think refers to Juggs taking off. I think David says that when viewing the Holograms/ship's log.
You could also be totally right...that's why I love this site lol
