PSYCHED

In 1979 my favorite monster movies were The Blob, Green Slime, and anything Japanese.  My favorite magazine was Heavy Metal, and they published an illustrated version of Alien in advance of the film. The idea of spoiling didn't even occur to me as I read and re- read it. I was obsessed. Much like now.   So I knew what was going to happen to Kane but my dad, who took me to see Alien when it came out, did not. I "went to the bathroom" when the time came, totally chickening out, and left my poor uncomprehending dad to face it alone. I listened on the other side of the door, which was bad enough, and when the bloodcurdling carnage was over I returned to find him white as a sheet. This was SO cool, I had finally gotten him back for a lifetime of spooky pranks! I asked him what happened and all he could do was shake his head. Eyes like wet golf balls.   I've been following you all for about 4 weeks now, right after I saw the 1st trailer and nearly had a stroke, and it has been GREAT. I'm as psyched for this film as I was in '79. Its all I talk about, to the dismay of everyone around me. I know more than I'd like to, but so much less than I did then! Let it be different,  but similar.  Let it maybe even re- write the original story a little. It's not like the original is gonna go away. Everything so far looks beautiful, I think this is gonna be AWESOME fun with maybe more to look forward to as well!   3 weeks left. Feels like I'm gonna have a baby.

Thank you this is the first forum I've ever been on! Yeah the story seems super cool, super weird, and nasty as hell. I've been waiting for this without even knowing it. Really also loved Carpenter's The Thing, guess its kinda my aesthetic for THINGS FROM SPACE. The new Thing didn't do it for me, corny cgi and a regurgitation of the old story. I literally fell asleep. Only made it through 30 minutes of Avatar,, not that it was bad but cgi wears me down. Gotta say though, when there's only mush to eat, you eat. Looking forward to Ridley's SMORGASBORD OF DOOM. And one more possibly sacrilege comment: It appears Neville Page only contributed to the Engineers costume, and it doesn't look like he had anything to do with the Cobra thing. I am totally ok with that.
