OK i think the Eggs could have been created a long time ago, and we just wont find out for sure... Unless......... indeed we are seeing the Progenitor to the Xeno in this movie as Lindelof had said, and Ridley said its where Mommy meets Daddy.... Shaws Baby grows to become a Squid/Xeno ish hybrid it has the ability to implant embryos itself, so it is like a Face Hugger that does not die, it implants its embryo deep inside and then moves on.... At some point with no hosts, can this creature create a different form of delivery for its lifecyle that is stored and incubated in a Egg... Does Cuddles grow up to be able to lay Eggs, or maybe Cuddles Daughter? I guess we wont find out, and maybe not even in this movie but have to wait for Prometheus 2.... This is if the movie has a twist, in that its not the Derect Prequel because the Direct Prequel comes after?

If you notice the giger art, you'll find that skull shape of aliens was evolved out of those space jockeys.

Also this effigy served as a warning to. As the Da Vinci Code depicts supposedly a hidden messsage within the Last Supper painting so too this contains the warning (s.o.s) with the 'beam' emmenating from The woman that looks like the Egyptian goddes Nut and her 'Womb" is an indirect metaphor for The Derilict space craft itself and her legs and arms are both the right and left Sail-Fin and HammerHead of The Derilict too. Thus the ship serving as a "womb" for the "babies" that it carries within. Yes.....

The little sqigglesjust slightly hanging from beneath the eggs could be signifigant of the Cobra-eel-Heads representing 'sperm' and the eggs as a fertilized 'ova/ovum' but I talked about this once in my own thread a bit before. Because this is yours I was merely commenting upon insights I feel I have that perhaps you would like to be made awa of seeing as you are asking a question I just felt like being informative thats all. Not attempting to restart a thread I already started once before just offering interested, observant commentry upon this subject.

I think Scott is jiving us a tad about "mommy and daddy". we see in a mural a very close resemblance to a grown Xeno. Nothing in the movie is going to create a "xeno" they have been created, it may start the process again.......
