Can the androids engage in sexual relationships?

Apparantly, Ash was curious about sex, but lacked a member so he was unable to engage in sexual activity. This lead to the infamous "choking scene" where he tried to kill Ripley by shoving a rolled up Porno down her throat. Then again, in a deleted scene Ripley asks Lambert, who was promiscuous, if she ever had sex with Ash and she says "he never seemed that interested". Many scenes are about her being "Fuc^able" and when they discover she is an android they mock the guy that has a crush on her by saying he "almost screwed a Toaster".

In the DVD Commentry for Alien Ridley Scott states that Ash tries to suffocate Ripley with a magazine because... 1. He has frustrated sexual urges. 2. He DOESN'T have the required part to engage in sexual intercourse.

I think it would be really interesting if they could engage in sexual acts. I wonder if humans would accept them more, if they knew they could have sex with them? After all, it is the most common of human urges.

Well you can bet your bottom dollar. That once mankind can create Andriods even if not quite up to David 8 standard, that one of the biggest uses would be Companionship Driods. Certainly for the mega rich and famous.....

Actually I think this is a really relevant question. As androids creators, one of the first things we find ourselves being curious about is, "can we have sex with them?" And the Engineers as our creators, I think ask themselves the same question about us! Which is Why Shaw ends up with a squid-baby

@Juxtapose Hi i hope you know i was only joking about....... I have a lot of members in my family (cusins and a nephew) who prefer the same sex, and i have no issues with that. If they are happy that way, i prefer that than for them to be unhappy pretending to be something they are not.

I don't think that David is going to be dropping his trousers for anyone in this film. Apparently Fassy worked very hard to cultivate a slightly awkward, asexual aura for the character. But in general, I [u]guarantee[/u] you and as soon as a Pris- or David-like android can do things related to *pleasure*, they will be done. It's no accident that they cast Fassy in this. Hmm... remember the "anything and everything" dialogue between David and Holloway? David is not persuading Holloway into something, he is seducing him into it. This is more homoeroticism than homosexuality, but it still has a lot of sexual overtones. He was created By Peter Weyland. The model was TE Lawrence, who was gay. Is David a gay android? The question of whether he has the plumbing is still unresolved. It is possible that he was made with the whole tackle, but that this somehow makes W decide to make later versions (Ash) without the tackle.

Turn it around the other way and ask yourself why would someone bother to build a humanoid android in the first place if they weren't planning to fuck it? If you're going to the extent of giving it the ability to detect, model, and mimic human emotions, then adding the naughty bits in would kind of be a no-brainer.

Unless the naughty bits turn out to distract the android from his or her (its?) original purpose, as envisioned by that oh-so-sexual-in-nature entity, the Weyland Corporation.
