Id Rather Be Eatin Something Else
MemberOvomorphMay 22, 20122987 Views15 RepliesWe hear in Aliens the creatures being referred to as a: Xenomorph, a reference given to them anthropomorphically by us Humans so we can better identify them by some type of name designation. The Space Jockey origins of its race are supposed to be called the Mala' kek or the Ossians or both and we are obvoiusly Humans; but I wonder what the 'Xenomorphs' species actual name in the Alien universe actually is?

I dont think none of the creatures had been given names, the Alien had been give that name in Aliens and i think it means Changing Alien so its used to describe a Alien that has more than one apearence reference to the Cycle maybe....
I dont think thats a ideal name but it stuck.
The names for the Space Jockeys are what has been apllied to them from comic book adaptions and fans....
They are not in that universe called Space Jockeys, thats just the same as when we used Blye Guy...
Right now the Space Jockeys are refered to as Engineers i prefer term Bio-Engineer but thats just how maybe the crew or Ridley refers to them.
I doubt the Engineers may see that as who they are? But we wont know what they call themselves.

The pseudo-scientific names given them by fan fiction are:
Internecivus raptus
Linguafoeda Acheronsis
Officially they don't have a name, though the adult stage was referred to as "Big Chap" in the same way as the terms facehugger , cherstburster and space jockey were born, on the set of the first movie.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

I always thought this is what a Xenomorph would look like...

This Video also confirms that the Xenomorphy must therefore come from the Space Jockey..... or Blue Guy as we call him....

Well, the xeno featured in Alien was known as Yolanda McGillis when out of frame.
While Aliens featured a whole slew of xenos from all over the place, Phillip Towns, Joe Rathburger, Tim Ankleson, and Jessica Swillpot were given the most screen time.
Alien 3 gave us the lushly lipped Greta Martinez, and Resurrection sucked too bad to credit those xenos so foolish as to make an appearance in it (same goes for AVP, as most of those xenos were the same dumbasses that showed their silly faces in Ressurection).

Seriously,
During or after Prometheus, we might actually learn what the Engineers call it.
That would be exciting!
If they MADE it, they get the naming rights, correct?

In the dark of night and depths of tunnels it has no name other than fear and that is the way the writers and directors perfer. To name it is only temporary, it evolves and changes anyway. You name a pet, a bread, a person, this creature is entirely different and does not live by a names, but search for a name if it makes you happy.
