I was thinking during lunch and thought obout the actual story of Prometheus and how he stole fire from the gods and gave it to the humans. After I read the article from the "Sacrifice engineer" I thought to myself I bet that this engineer who rushed to earth to jumpstart life is the entity that represents Prometheus as he has the means to give humans a chance on primordial earth... Just a thought.

Are you reffering to the space jockey that we see in the trailer? Cuz uhhh i dont think he was gonna try and help earth lol based on what was said in the trailer i believe the SJ was going to bomb on earth and take it over. Using the xenomorphs as boilogical weapons of warfare.

There are 2 myths of Prometheus. The Greek myth concerns Prometheus Pyrophorus the bringer of fire. The Roman Prometheus is Prometheus Plasticator the recreator of man. Notice that he is the "re-creator" of man which he did after the flood. For these acts was he punished.

When I was younger I used to stare and stare and stare at the Rubens painting of Prometheus at the Philly art museum. It's a disturbing work and the poor guy really looks in terrible pain. So that was the first thing I thought of when I heard that the "new Alien prequel" was going to be called "Prometheus."

The primary link for the sacrificial engineer is that he probably is a Titan. He doesn't give us tech by creating the seeds of life, so I think he isn't Prometheus. The Prometheus myth in this movie is basically: the parent is afraid of the child once they acquire the parent's tech, so the parent will kill the child to keep the child from killing them.

@ Tokyokid Yeah but the parent's tech is the seeded intelligence, the necessary means to creating technology, which according to Prometheus is done during the "recreation of man"-the genetic modification- done by the sacrificial engineer- who must then represent Prometheus allegorically.
