Blue bald man not SJ

I just noticed from new pic
from bald blue man that when you compare it
with an overview picture from Alien, he is taller
than the astronauts but not as tall as SJ.
If production designers respected graphic
proportions from inception it would suggest
the existence of different andromorph species
Maybe redundant
but take a look and comment

I think the blue is the engineer/Spacejockey.
maybe his ship has a bigger seat? :p
if it's right, maybe the producers have a good reason to not make him that big

Hi
I dont think Ridley would have missed a size descrepency. there will be a reason for it. they may grow with age . they may have different development states ?
i am looking forward to finding out. i am seeing it on 2.6.12 :)

It has been said recently that the SJ/Engineer, in Prometheus, is very young and so only a nipper ;) ... DAD is probably the proper sized SJ (as in ALIEN) ... I'd be happy with that ...
We don't know their actual life span ... so, young (to them) could be 30-50 yrs old? ... hence the older they get the bigger they get? ...

The fairly young engineer is supposed to be the one in the beginning of time (waterfall) that sacrifice himself (desintegrates)
So the one later in the movie, is not the same (that doesn't mean he can't be young)
Also the more i think about it, the more it seems all dead there.
Tere is no sign of a living civilisations as far as we can see there.
But he seems to be there alive and well (and small)
more questions more more questions

Isn't it just the case that whatever the age the engineers might be, they used the stasis pods next to the the navigation canon thing (you see in all the pics) to hibernate over time, maybe even thousands of years perhaps. This might be why the younger engineer hasn't grown yet?
If so, it makes you wonder what they were waiting for. I mean, were they waiting for their initial building blocks of life plan to develop (us), or something else? Either way, it seems a lame existence and very boring, they even got no tv's ffs.
It also just seems bizarre how a far superior species could let themselves get wiped out by us when we visit. Did they just leave the front door open? Wouldn't they have known what their mutation goo does to life? Wouldn't they be ready for it with advanced weapons if something went wrong?
Maybe something went wrong in the temple and we see that in the hologram recordings, when we see about 20 engineers all running together in their spacesuits. Did anyone else see that trailer?

Yes, but even then, a few run away (or die)
the planet doesn't look like a big civilisation.
Labratory planet?
The sarcos around the canon, all but one seem pierced.

The blue guy is the Sj, really for me its nothing to do with being a younger one or anything but 100% just a design and idea change over time cause who knows how thought out the idea behind the SJ was 30 years ago.

Maybe the Space Jockey suit is significantly larger thatn the being inside it. Because if you look at the chair in the Prometheus image the seat looks a lot bigger than the blue dude anyway. I'm am under the impression that once he enters the suit its not likely he gets out of the chair in the suit and that its like a operating suit-device for the ship. Just because the Space Jockey suit is significantly larger doesnt mean the one inside it has to be too.

i think it is the space jockey, but clearly the size difference is undeniable.
BigDave will comment eventually, and he holds to the idea that the "illusion" of size difference is due to perspective, and the angle we see these guys, usually we use the shot of them in the chair to debate.
but the SJ from Alien was MASSIVE, and the guy we see in these traliers, just isnt.
I think that its as simple as, like us, they come in all shapes and sizes, or they dont necessarily start out as SJ's, and their size is dependant on some other factor of how they are created.

I think there is three aliens. The space jockey who has the goo and wanted us to find them. I think they were in hibernation under lock and key until we came. But I think another alien beat us there and it waiting for either us or the space jocky to wake. I think the space jocky will try and kill the crew because they are infected. The last alien is the one we know and love. I think the big room with the face wasn't supposed to have the eggs. They were put there after as a trap.
I havnt read everything about this movie so it's just a guess.

IMO just to add to my theory I would compare the Space Jockey suit as the Powerloader but immobile and the engineer like Ripley in comparison to it's size. Ripley is a lot smaller than the power loader so why cant the engineer be smaller than the space jockey suit.

Perhaps a simpler explanation is right here:
I work with about 15 people. Our heights range from 4 feet, 10 inches tall to nearly 7 feet tall. Without doing too much math this early in the morning, that represents close to a 25% range in a very small portion of human society.
8 feet tall is only 25% less than 12 feet tall, correct? The difference from one engineer to another is not that big of a deal for me to grasp. I can live with it.

I think, after he eats his Wheaties, he'll be big enough to sit in Daddy's Chair. Mommy wow! I'm a big kid now!

I've posted about this before, but has anyone considered the idea that David "infects" himself with their technology when he puts some of the black liquid on his finger, turning himself into the human-sized blue guy we see in parts of the film?
Ridley feels Fassbender is one of the best actors alive right now, which makes me believe he has something special in store for the character he plays. Additionally, this would explain why there is a human-sized blue guy as well as large ones.

@whiskuz...i dont dismiss the idea that the space jockeys are spawned from people/or other things. what that black stuff is that david finds dancing around on top of that urn, and then seems so facinated with...AND IS PHYSICALLY TOUCHING!! is, in my opinion, no doubt the catalyst of this entire movie.
we also dont discuss the symptoms of holloways infection, or at least the parts we can see. its very unique. mulburns and fifields exposure result in mutilation/mutation, respectively. holloway seems to change only subtly, and over a significant period of time, at least in comparison to the others.
when we see him changing, physically, he appears pale/blue, with hollow looking eyes, and something seems to be streaming through him . he has a few episodes of agony, but the last time we see him (presumably) he seems to be ok. the only side effects we can see of him are characteristics that are similar to the SJ...pale/blue skin, and black looking eyes. he doesnt seem to be getting bigger or anything, but after he's burned, he seems to reconstruct with his suit, and get back up. he also may be the person with whom the face mask latches on to. his body graphing to things around him that it can use to make him bigger, stronger, better.
Davids comment of "Big things have small beginnings" is telling. whats the "Big Thing" he's talking about...the human race, the world, or just those big ass SJ's, that start off as people, or other humanoid organisms.
