Prometheus and Aliens: Colonial Marines game

Hi there, forgive me if this has already been mentioned but i couldnt see it anywhere. Reading an interview with the producer of the Aliens: Colonial Marines video game Brian Burleson on the newspaper Metro's website (sorry I don't know how to paste the link?) i found this quote interesting 'When we first spoke to Ridley we got some info on how things worked, but for the most part during the filming of Prometheus we were in the dark as well. It wasn't until the very end that we got to see more. And thank god it was all consistent with what we had in the game,' he added. I was under the impression that Prometheus was only going to be set in the same universe as Alien and would brush aside the events from Aliens, Alien3 and Resurection such as the Queen etc as they were nothing to do with Ridley. However as this video game is set directly after the events of Aliens it suggests that for continuity issues the events in Aliens are also consistant with what happens in Prometheus?

the franchise has fractured and splintered into pieces, not everything matches up anymore. The game you are talking about is what people always wanted for the movie 'Aliens' in it's own rite.

The inverse of "consistent" in this sense could also mean "had nothing to do with". It may be that it does not confirm anything, but also doesn't deny anything either. Think of it this way: I say Barack Obama is not asian. He says Michelle Obama is not European. Both are true and neither is dependent on the other, but those two people are married. Think of Alien and Prometheus being married, but two separate people. Make sense?

prometheus will fit in with alien and aliens prob alien 3 and 4 also. they feature the derelict in ship in the Aliens: Colonial Marines game also prometheus and this game are supposed to help bridge gaps and add elements to the story and franchise as a whole, I"m really looking forward to this game

Sorry to burst anyone bubble but Ridley Scott any acknowledges ALIEN & ALIENS as canon. Probably not even all of the ALIENS plot, like the queen and what not. But the WEYLAND -YUTANI aspect of it is clearly represented in this movie. Colonial Marines takes place above (and possibly on) LV-426. that PROBABLY means we will find out how the Derelict ended up on Archeron (LV-426) during the ever fabled last 8 minutes of the movie. If it "follows" this universes canon, I'm calling that you have to whack an engineer/SJ for the final conflict of the game. THAT'D BE COOL!
