How would you react when you just wake up with a terrible headache and someone is shouting at you? But it doesn't bug me, what would the old guy want him to say, obvious no?

I had the same feeling. He maybe doesn't even now what happened to his mates. he wakes up with a bunch of extra terrestrials around him he don't know, with an old grumpy old man that can only think of eternal life. I'm happy i don't understand what has been said, but i'd like to know a bit later, when the movie is less new.

I think he said exactly what his master told him to say, since he obeyed all his orders until there. It's just when Weyland dies that he becomes free (his dad is dead) and is really like a true lifeform. The sacrifice of Weyland created a new life, just like the sacrifice of the engineer at the beginning created human life.
