Engineers knew about the xenomorph

ATTENTION SPOILERS! For the people who haven't seen the movie yet! So... I saw the movie yesterday and in all honesty I loved the film! It was everything I expected it to be! Ok it had some flaws but overall it was a great film! But after a night sleep i came to realize that the xeno that is born out of the engineer is exactly the same as the xeno we see in the mural in the place where the big head is! Like they said it's a sort of temple where all the murals are. Did they worship the xeno's? Why make a mural out of it? Or did the temple make the mural out of it self? Because the murals change when the atmosphere is affected? This could mean that a xeno might have been there in the temple and affected the atmosphere which would be the explanation why the engineers were running away and it also explains why the big pile of dead engineers have exploded chest holes! Shaw also said that the Engineer who was beheaded died about 2000 years ago! Meaning that the xeno mural was over 2000 years. Also note that the engineers wanted to attack earth 2000 years ago meaning that something happened 2000 years ago that really pissed the engineers off! (Jesus perhaps :P) What are your thoughts about this!

Hi I saw the film yesterday, and i´m was not impressed. At all. I can write that somewhere else. But, your question. I think maybe the engineers fucked it up 2000 years ago. When they where heading for earth and made ready for the trip, I think the protoxenos was released by a mistake. That´s why they where all running and some of them got killed by a chestburster. It was biological weapon ready to use on earth, but something happened and they fucked it up. That´s the reason they did not go. I

sorry but i think you guys are reaching...which is an obvious side effect of the let down of this movie...im doing it myself looking for reasons to make the un-answerd plot lines viable...but you have to remember these events took place on a different planet to that of Alien and we'll never find out what happens...because shaw leaves...so if theres another movie all those things like plot lines and reasons will be left behind.

First I haven't seen the film yet but I have seent the clip in the ampule room where the "atmosphere is affected". Are the murals changing or is it just moisture condensing on them giving that effect? Also in the these rooms, what gives people the impression they are places of worship? Could these murals just be the Engineers showing off their work? Like if you walked through Boeings offices wouldn't there be pictures on the walls of there products, models planes etc? Are these "Pyramids" not just factorys where they make each product? The one in the film would appear to be centred around there humanoid products:) What do they make in the one Shaw escapes from? Bio weapons? I'll see it this weekend anyway.

yeah i think they were trying to breed xenon or something (humans were seeded as breeding stock/ experiment to create xeno) and indeed the 2000 years, xeno crucifix mural weren't intact co-incidences as mentioned by another poster here. [/quote] -- the fact they show a bone ship crash and it isn't the one in alien even though you're clearly supposed to think it is is one of the dumbest most contrived things about this film that just annoyed me :( "we're going to show you the derelict!" "SURPRISE!!, hahaha only kidding! you have to wait for the sequel! Look how we can piss about with your cultural template!!"

First of all I really liked the film! I don't get it why people didn't like it you shouldn't overhype something. The ampule room might have been something they worshiped because shaw says that! And the murals change because they affect the atmosphere and that's also why the black goo comes out of the urns and creates life (the cobra alien, which is a protofacehugger that transforms in a xeno we see on the mural) Yeah the temples are factory's and those murals could be pictures on the walls off the things they created. The also say the the products they created turned against the engineers!

The crashed ship on LV-426 was probably the ship that fucked everything up because that engineer was fossilized meaning it was also ancient. Yeah it's pretty stupid that Prometheus doesn't explain anything of what happened in the original Alien we can only guess that the ship with the egg cargo was leaving from one of the factory's and things went wrong above LV-426! Let's wait another 35 years for a sequel to the prequel! :D

@louispasmans It´s wrong that the cobrahugger is a protofacehugger. They came in later when the black goo started to pop out of the urns. it was the tiny worms on the ground who got infected by the black goo and turned into theese snakethings.

@clovenberg Yeah sorry forgot to say that it were the worms! But if you look at the giant Facehugger at the end it injects the same cobrahugger inside the engineer! It probably has more dna to transform into a xeno and the transformed worms can only eat and not transform... probably... just guessing :P

That mural, and the green translucent stone nobody is talking about, are the most mysterious elements of this movie. How was the xeno supposed to be created?

Bodyhugger + Human, y'all, I'm tellin' you. Mark my words, I'm callin' it now. Of course, I also tend to think Prometheus 2 is going to avoid that altogether. Guess we have to wait for a comic book of video game or something. :/ ...hey, I just now realized, does Dark Horse even have the ability to do a Prometheus comic? Wow that was off-topic. I apologize, y'all. (I can say "y'all" because I'm from Texas. I'm totally wearing a cowboy hat right now.)

The thing that I am wondering about the most is the eggs in the original Alien... where did they come from? the urns to me seem like an incomplete form of bio weapon while the eggs containing the facehuggers is something I would consider to be an actual weapon.
