-----------------------------------------------------------------Saw it at 12.01 this monring.....
I pretty much new the entire plot, script, cast, aliens, basically it all.
However, it was still undoubtedly the best single film i have seen in the last decade. RS is an absolute genius, brilliant imagery, credible story, great actors.
This is NOT an alien film. It is Prometheus, very much its own film, asking questions that we al have asked once in our lives. What is our purpose?
We need a little more positivity about this film, topo many people are trying to pick holes. Go and see it with an open mind, pretend the Alien franchise does not exist. I guarantee in 30 years this and any prequels will be timeless classics as well.
Remember big things have small beginnings...

If there were no sequels, what would you think about Prometheus?

I, for one, would feel that 'Prometheus' is muddled and incomprehensible without a sequel.
it's got some phenomenal ideas at play, but they need clarity. Motivation ALWAYS needs clarity.

I'm an experienced art critic so giving an objective opinion will be no problem for me.

But what you said about going in and watching it without expecting another alien film...thats exactly how i have prepared and conditioned myself to go in and watch it...
....the Alien franchise is finished...get over it people. Those movies will never leave us....but they have been done already and perhaps one day someone will make a sequel...Great...looking forward....BUT!
This is the Dawn of something grand and new....and I know i am gonna love every second of it! You can also almost bet that it's going to be a huge commercial success and it inevitable that their will be a sequal....and fox will grand Ridley (or whomever directs it) a massive budget!....very excited!
