Plagiarising reviews.

I have no intention of watching Prometheus just yet, since I will wait it out a little longer and avoid the queues and digest some of the reviews. From my current impressions Prometheus is going in the direction I thought it would and view points are quite varied. It comes across as love it or hate it. Either way, what does stand out is the lack of journalistic abilities of many of the reviewing critics. Too frequently have I seen the same phrasing and lack of ability to commit to an unbiased honest appraisal. The only real exceptions have been on THIS website, which identify the personal short comings of individual expectations or the areas of praise. At the end of the day everyone will draw their own conclusions and this is down to taste and whether what has been anticipated meets the mark or not. We will all have our own opinion and it is that simple. So why the hell do the critics shy away from giving us theirs and resort to what is out and out plagiarism?

Could it be a syndicated review? I'm not doubting they exist, but do you have links to examples of similar "plagiarized" reviews?

@ Abordoli I'll have to do a bit of backtracking to fully identify them, but the last one I came across was the phrasing used by Empire's review a couple of hours ago. I felt I was reading the same article again because the exact same discriptives were used ( we are talking opinion phrases not advertising). I have been starting to see this a with greater frequency. Thats one example for starters.

Please document it as best you can using links and copy/pasted text. The accusation of "Plagiarization" is serious. You need to back up your thread with facts or ask for it to be shut down. ; )

"Plagiarization" is serious, like abordoli said. Facts are important information! Otherwise, it's just open game to speculation! ^ And what Patch said, "critics are not people by the way." I love that statement sooooooo much Patch! Unfortunately they are very human, but we all have our faults.

Depends on who is viewing it... some never liked it because it does not directly explain Alien, or some cant even see any links. some dont like it because it had to many links to Alien. some casual viewers who may not have even seen Alien came across as seeing it as a not bad movie, but no ground breaker. For me i feel that if the movie had from the start aimed at a R, give more detail to death scenes which are over as quick as a flash. And to me come across as they shot the scenes but then cut them down shorter some what... thats not the case but who it comes across. The biggest problem for me was that the movie had a scope for a story that could not be told in 2 hours but needed 3 hours, but instead it was grammed into 2 hours. A extra 40 min and few added scenes done to tie others together would not have gone a miss. They spent a lot of time building up to certain characters and infections do have the outcome as short lived and not explored enough. It was like a 3 hour movie with a very good start but then once youe 30 min in you hit fast forward untill the last 20 mins and then there could had been a expantion on one certain scene, well what leads to that scene. The best way to descipe it would be Revenge of the Sith, when we see Anakins Burnt Body, then next we see Darth Vader walking about and so the scene of him being rebuilt into the suit is missing.... And its little things like that, that spoil the movie. As if there is a 10 min scene but you nodded off for 2 min of it.

Oh by Spoil.... I think thats the wrong term.... Not so much spoil the movie, just that could have added more depth. Its not as bad as some make out, i think the combination of the scope of the movie but maybe lack of time to fit that scope, and how much of bar that Alien and Blade Runner raised are two areas that may make this movie feel like it may not to some be the masterpeice those two movies was. Thats the thing with ground breaking movies.... you could get any director in the world to make a movie about a little lost Alien who lands on Earth and is seperated by Mommy and Daddy.... see Mack and Me lol But you may never ever be able to match or beat what ET did. Just like you may find it hard to beat Blade Runner, you know movies like Avatar and 5th Element was decent but cant touch Blade Runner.
