random thoughts about Prometheus (WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS!!)

Ok so I have been reading a lot of reviews and thoughts about this movie so I am going to pitch in my two cents. 1. I didn't read any reviews about the movie until after I had seen the movie. Then you read the reviews and a lot of them complain about underdeveloped characters and the character of David stealing each scene in the film. truth be told the character of David is excellent, the missing link between the psycho ash and the caring Bishop. BUT and this is a biggie I thought most of the characters were likeable, especially the captain and his comment to Vickers (An awesome little scene that made the audience laugh.) His two co-pilots bickering over what the mission was going to be. 2. The links to alien (SPOILERS AHEAD) I thought it made perfect sense the evolution and this was a major talking point in the crowd. Almost all of them were discussing the final monster and its similarity to the alien we all know and love. I think it makes sense that said alien would lay the eggs (Like those in Alien) with the face huggers in them. The Proto-Alien looked about one evolutionary jump away from the aliens we know and love. Also there is NO evolutionary cycle, there is in fact a straight line meaning they are constantly evolving. Now for the complicated bit, linking the Alien we know and love into this film. I think that perhaps if we assume that the aliens life cycle (or line as i have said because it is a constantly evolving) reaches a dead end in Alien and said dead end continues into Aliens with perhaps one exception of the queen (A forced evolution out of necessity perhaps?). the way the life cycle of the goo works (Mutating dna etc) it also helps to explain (shudder) the Alien/Human hybrid from the fourtyh movie. Just my opinions.
