Firstly I wondered why this was called Prometheus (I know the ship is called Prometheus) but also the Ted talk Peter Weyland refers to Prometheus too... Do you think that the Engineer at the beginning of the movie was like Prometheus giving Earth the "fire" i.e. Life? and that the ship on LV233 was preparing to "fix" or "clearup" what the first Engineer did (i.e. creating us all)? Also, I know that a few people including Ridley Scott have said that this was set on a sister planet - but I came away thinking that it really could have linked with Alien. Some of the crew were still alive and managed to walk back to the ship after being infected, so what could stop the engineer after the end of the movie trying to get himself back to his ship to try to take off? - and also the Alien at the end of the movie does look a bit like a queen - could it have gone back to the ship to make a nest of eggs? - I think it could have all tied up. I liked the giant squid/facehugger - thought that was a great way to get the Engineer finished. Also - what do you think would happen in a sequal if there was one? - I think the Engineers race is really aggressive - if they did go back to the planet what would they find? - would it fun in the same timeline as AVP too? I remember at the end of one of the movies Yutani getting a Predator weapon and the person saying "it's not for this planet is it Ms. Yutani"? Some good ideas in this movie. I still want to know what the Alien mural was there for - and also the artwork that changed in the temple. - Lots to think about.
