Sequels Will Never Link To ALIEN?

I don't think there will be a sequel and I for one actually agree with his viewpoint.

When the dust settles and the negative reviews outweigh the positive by 10 to 1, chances are a definate No for a sequel.

I don't think the ratio of - to + reviews will be anywhere near that for the general audience. Also, it would be a shame for the fan base to trash the hell out of this film and cost us all the possibilty of a sequel. I'd encourage fans to go see it at least TWICE! Then FOX may give the green light for another movie.

erm a 2nd and 3rd film have been hinted by Ridley himself in a recent radio interview...but it will go further from alien, but bridge the gap in the time line from what ive read and heard...they wanna make a new myth with this..u cant help but feel prometheus has left you with a hell of alot more questions then answers....even the so called last 8 mins link, wasnt clear and u neva get the answer...Use ur imaginationa and fill in the blanks i guess. Was still worth a watch and im going again tnite for a 2nd viewing.

Prometheus 2 will (and should) remove itself further from 'alien'. Time to go to new places in mind and space.

PS! as far as reviews go Prometheus is doing well....very well for a sci fi. And it's crushing 'alien' so far. Alien was referred to as an 'empty bag of tricks' in majojr review around the world. In Norway the major papers gave Alien a 2/6 while Prometheus got a 5/6. Noone knows what makes a classic....but im pretty sure this is a sci fi classic in the making.

Sequels will never link to Alien as long as Damon Lindelof is involved Simple solution there then....

READ NO SPOILERS...WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS...... I would hope they don't tell the xenmorphs story in the next one and focus more on the origins and reasons of the space engineers. I think the alien story has been told and this gave answers to that while opening a new story line completely.  Yes it lives in the same world but I think the questions of the original aliens were answered. They were our DNA, the DNA of the pods and the DNA of the engineers. Just another science expedient gone wrong.  But in my opinion I'd like to know more about the space engineers and why they create then destroy. Why do they conduct such experiments. who are these creatures and whats their origin world like. They obviously have created and terraformed other planets so there must be others like us in space but slightly different. They could take this in a whole direction like star wars kind of and have different being and planets. There were so many different life forms it seams and they were masters of science and space travel.  I'd like a sequel please.
