MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 10:13 AMI recently posted concerns that several of my threads had vanished after I politely expressed my opinions of my 1st and then 2nd viewing of Prometheus.
I was concerned that one of the staff had chosen to remove the threads. This was proven to be inaccurate and they had in fact been moved into the Review (Dislike) area.
I didn't realise this area existed, My threads were not reviews, just my feelings after the 1st view and then some thoughts to share after my second viewing for all those others disappointed. I was surprised that they had been moved to this new area.
Thanks to the staff for looking into this and letting me know and my unreserved apologies for thinking that someone was trying to underhandedly censor my thread.
Is there a chance that my thread with my thoughts after a second viewing could go back in the main forum? I think they would be useful comments for others who were upset after their first viewing to get something more positive out of the experience.
Whatever you decide is appropriate I will go along with.
Thanks again and I'm sorry for thinking the worst. As I said in my threads...this forum is excellent.

Me too. Thanks for your thoughts and comments on this. I felt an apology was in order.

AdminPraetorianJun-04-2012 10:25 AM@Mithra. It's all good! I am glad we got to the bottom of this! I think the same thing is happening to a lot of others and they are thinking we are censoring when we are not.
This is why it is best to mail a staffmember and BugHunter. :P
I am hoping this is the case with other people who THINK we deleted their stuff, but it was merely moved to another part of the forum. I hope these people will take the time to look before accusing staff of being prejudiced against them.
A LOT of people are thinking the worst of us. Some people who have been banned because of vulgar attacks on other members or for posting illegal links (which is against the rules) then come back on new accounts and accuse the staff of having banned them because they think we disliked what they said about the movie.
Anyways, I am very glad your problem was resolved. :)

MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 2:29 PMHaven't you guys seen all of us that haven't seen it yet complaining about the Thread titles in the "Spoiler Section" LOL. It's all good, everyone around here has to respect the mods as they're spending their free time trying to make this place run smoothly and keeping everyone happy.
Mods- do you guys send PMs to the users after moving their threads and posts? Not sure what else you can do if you're already doing that.

MemberOvomorphJun-04-2012 3:23 PMI am instituting a personal policy of PM-ing members when I move their threads. I was not under the impression that many users were not aware of the existence of the other 7 "equally" important boards.
As far as threads being moved into either the "Prometheus Reviews (Liked)" or "Prometheus Review (Disliked)" boards, here is the rubric: if anywhere in the thread's opening post you mention that you have seen/viewed -AND- you begin to talk about the movie, your thread is considered a "review" and the temperature of your "review" determines which "board" it goes into. In addition, if any posts contain spoilers, the thread get moved into boards 6, 7, or 8 ("Prometheus Spoiler Board", "Prometheus Reviews (Liked)", or "Prometheus Reviews (Disliked)").
Moderators on duty try their best to move spoiler threads and threads with spoilerish titles into the "Prometheus Spoiler Board" so that they do not appear in the lower portion of the "community" page. They also try to change the spoiler thread titles if they contain spoilers. We're not always looking at the community page as we may be reviewing threads themselves to make sure members are adhering to the "Forum Rules", therefore some time may elapse before a spoiler title is changed and spoiler threads are moved into one of the three spoiler section.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me. I am very approachable and will gladly communicate with you in a fair, respectful and courteous manner (as will all of the staff here). If you feel that you need to complain about my moderating behavior, please PM BugHunter or e-mail him directly at info@Prometheus-Movie.com.
