Ok so saw it today. Yep, brilliant, BUT. Watched the Alien scene this morning before seeing it, so it stuck in my mind. When John Hurt and others go down to the planet in Alien, firstly, they see the big U shaped ship standing up, so it looks like a U (also makes you wonder what way up the big chair room is if its level inside) but ANYWAY. They go inside the room with the big chair, and see, sitting there, big alien crew member, the Space Jockey. Yep got his mask on and everything. But ok, he's sitting there, with a whole in his chest "looks like he exploded from the inside", so yeah, xenomorph. Ok so heres my question, at the end of Prometheus, the SJ goes after Shaw, gets fucked by the original facehugger, and dies there, in the Vickers medical bay. This, therefore, I have concluded, would mean that he would NOT be in the big space chair, where John Hurt and others find him. Anyone got any explanation for this? Again, love the film, but wasn't Prometheus supposed to answer exactly this kind of thing?

It is not on the same planet : LV223 for Prometheus, LV426 for ALien. Thus, there are 2 SJ : The one who gets a beautiful kiss in the lifepod, and the other one in LV426 who sent a distress call. It may not be in the same era, btw

It is a different Space Jockey, on a different ship, on a different planet. Prometheus and its events take place on LV 223. Alien and Aliens take place on LV 426. Hope that helps.

in Prometheus it is also said that there are more ships. The one from Alien ended falling on a different planet...one of the things not explained in Prometheus...

Well pointed out about the different planets. Question: Do you reckon that an early stage xenomorph hid in the ship that DAVID & ELIZABETH escaped in? And that they found the original planet of the SPACE JOCKEYS? And knowingly or not released a xenomorph on their world? Hence an escape ship crashing on LV-426 and sending a distress SOS call by a SJ prior to his chest exploding with a probable xenomorph. Thus linking scene from originally ALIEN movie?

is there the possibility of one of the other ships on LV-233 having a SJ in a cryo pod that's alive(i know there was more than one on the ship shown in the film but not sure if any were still alive)? if so i think it may be more likely that the derelict ship on LV-426 is one of these other ships and that the SJ/human hybrid(or first queen?) ends up on it.
