Who was the surgical chamber intended for?

I too thought it was specifically for Weyland as it was calibrated for a male patient.

Weren't there enough clues? It was top of the line, (we're told there's only a few like it - capable of bypass surgery) it was in the lifeboat section, and it was calibrated for a man (so not for Vickers the woman, or David the Android) it could only be for the gravely ill Weyland.

Yeah, the machine only worked on men (the one in Vicker's private life boat at least) - which makes me assume it was intended for Weyland.

If its in the life yacht...is there the slightest possibility that Weyland ( or anyone else, I'm thinking Vickers ) could get there and recover/survive? Probably not Weyland as he's too old and fragile to move, but I was hoping Vickers wasn't killed as she was not an evil character. I thought she could have emerged as the unlikely hero of the piece.

@Promethian Man we didn't see her dieing looked asif shaw was going to get crushed but the big rock in the back ground saved her! Plus the juggernaut is a strange shape she could have survived! Prometheus 2 anyone?

I know it specifically said it was for a male patient. But given the fact that it was in Vickers room and Weyland is such an old fart, it is almost pointless to have that surgical chair, if it was just for Weyland. Anyway, guess we'll never know. As for Vickers, I am pretty sure that she is dead :(
