Further to this, due to (sensibly) not wishing to lose Status as the dominant galactic species, they have left clues (star maps) with their creations to the whereabouts of their weapons dump of a planet. What their creations see as an invitation from god is actually an invitation to trigger biological armageddon (the ships carring the Xeno) of their homeworld.
There's a couple of flaws to this, such as what if all the star maps were lost and a star empire of equal/better technology arose under the Architacts noses? I can let this one lie until we (hopefully) see the next film.
As 40,000+ years possibly passed between waterfall Architect (beautiful opening scenes) and the main events of the film, it would be intereting to know if the Architect culture/socitey changed/feagmented and whether the intention was always to have this failsafe of destruction ready for their creations.
Probably nothing new here, just wanted to share what was the main theme of the film for me!
Cheers!
