Space Jockey/'Alien' Connection: HELP

There's more than one ship, and it's a different planet. The ship and space jockey on LV-426 are not the same ones in this movie.

Ah, got it. Thanks! I definitely missed that bit. So is the ship that we find crashed in the beginning of "Alien" an Engineer who escaped when all hell broke loose?

Because its either.... 1) Ridley does not want that scene to tie in with the Derelict on LV 426, and thus use that scene just to show how a Xeno type Organism can be created by a chain of events regarding the Black Stuff, so we can then assume that a simular chain of events in the past could create a simular but different Organism in the past. 2) Ridley wants to leave it open, just in case a Prometheus 2 or 3 could directly tie that Xeno ish Organism to Alien at a later date... (kind of like saying at the end of Phantom Menance.... why dont we see that boy inside Vaders Space Suit?). 3) Ridley has been possessed with Lindelof and some of his no explanation weird endings just as in Lost.... Myself their is a explaination and i think Ridley has ended the movie open so he has more depth to it..... Imagine if the Engineer got up got to another ship then took off after Shaw and David, or headed to Earth and then he crashed on LV 426 because of that Chest Buster...... That would mean the Prometheus to Alien link is complete and explained... But then if the movie critics dont like the story of Shaw and David going to the Engineers planet and despite what hard core fans say, the mainstream public have no interest in the Engineers homeworld etc... Well that basically limits what they could do with Prometheus 2... Thus how it ended they can.. 1) Do a movie about Shaw and David and what they find when they reach or attempt to reach the Engineers homeworld. 2) Explore a rescue mission that comes to investigate what happened to Prometheus and come across the Xeno Organism which can be... a) Treated as a new type or Organism/Franchise b) Be a series of events that would at the end tie directly to Alien. Thus he has left the door open for more than one posibility for a sequel.
