Coping with the Limbo

If you, like me, have several days to go before you can see Prometheus, how are you coping with the limbo? PS: How many spoilers do you inadvertently encounter in a day, on average? PPS: If you hated the film, please don't harsh my excitement. I feel that that's mean-spirited. This is not about the film, it's about anticipation.

It was in the cinemas here since last week. I eagerly awaited it. Here's my tip. Don't watch the trailers. Book your tickets and go about your daily business until it's time to go to the cinema. Then put on your 3D glasses and watch. After that, come tell us what you thought of it. HH

I cope with it just fine. My expectations are all normal. I see spoilers everyday here, I'm sad to say. How can I hate something I haven't seen yet? And why should I "hate"? I might dislike it, but "hate"?

Me? Whole movie was spoiled due to moderating the forum. I never realized this would happen. It is extremely disappointing. :(

Ouch, labour of love Svanya. Personally I think the trailers gave to much away anyway. Very few surprises in the film after viewing the trailer.

I feel like I'm just on the cusp of having seen too much in the trailers, etc. It is a constant battle not to hear or see TOO MUCH... BUT, having matriculated here has been a really good, interesting thing for me regardless of what the film is like, so I have to be happy about that! :•D I learn something new here every day (that I'm here).

@Svanya the devil is in the details. There is not a movie out today that I did not know the basic premise, what I find fun is watching very closely after I know what the story is about. That is where my personal story begins. The hidden, overlooked details that directors like RS are known to include.

"limbo" a great way to put it i have my ticket in hand for friday, now it's just a matter of not watching the pot / paint dry i well understand how far we have all come from when the countdown clock was 130+ days, but still...this is definitely a limbo-like time doing my best to try and enjoy it as well, this is the time when the high hopes i've got for this film have not been dashed / tarnished, so that is the silver lining in a way i have read too many spoilers, many by choice, many more by accident / mistake. before it was 2 to 3 spoilers a day, but i have managed to police myself a bit better, now i am down to 0 (with 2 days to go) ha! also doing my best to understand, that this film is it's own film, and not the film that will answer ALL my ALIEN queries so with that mindset, i into PROMETHEUS i will go hang in there sukkal, i am right here with ya =)

^^ Svanya, in the same boat with you. ((hugg)) My spirits are still high to see it though thankfully, not sure how I managed to keep hold of my excitement.

Look, things seem to have gone a bit nuts around here. I've seen it - twice, in Ireland. It's a bloody good film. Seem it twice and dying to get it on BluRay. It won't unlock the mysteries of creation (it's a film - entertainment) but it's a great adventure, intriguing, beautiful, horrific, and leaves you with all sorts of captivating questions. It has a life beyond the viewing: up there in you head :) Relax - enjoy. It's good. John alienage11.com

I never really had any strong need for any *answers* about 1979, so I'm just looking forward to another RS production. I was at the JP Gaultier exhibit this morning, so that's reminded me to try to see Fifth Element again soon. Maybe tomorrow night.... Damn! Not streaming on Netflix. Hmmmm... conundrum.

@alienage11.com / John Thanks. That's reassuring, and just what I'm looking for. I'm all about the Unicorns. :•)

@AlienAge: That is one of the *best* (and most poetic) descriptions I've read. I think you nailed it ;)

You could watch Lawrence of Arabia since it features prominently in the movie and is, honestly, a really, really awesome flick.
