Alien story answers

I see the two stories as linked via a common aliens, the spacejockeys/engineers and the xenomorph. I think they will eventually link the two stories together but for now I am happy that the derelict on LV-426 crashed/landed in the distant past say 10,000 years or more, the pyramids on LV-223 we abandoned as stated in the movie about 2000 years ago. I think that little if any data got back from lv-223 to earth/weyland maybe we will see in the future adventures of Shaw. Perhaps giving Weyland a clue as to what they might find on lv-426. Looking forward to what these new stories bring. Doogie.

Doogie has it. Not sure its 10,000 years old because as we saw in Prometheus with the Proto-Xeno, whatever they were experimenting with has the capability of creating new alien life. What strikes me about this is that there is no confirmation in prometheus that the Engineers actually made the black goo. Perhaps they discovered it and tried to turn it into a weapon, and it got out of control. I also think that they had already decided that they needed to get to Earth for some reason. The holographic recordings in the star chart scene seemed to suggest that they had already chosen Earth for something, and if we believe David's estimate that the Engineer he woke up had been in hybernation for 2000 years, it gives us a time scale for when they decided that. Why? lets hope we find out!

What does the LV in these planets name stand for?

The half-life period before the affected lands become habitable again is the real question... Certainly no worse than the biological weapons used today, as far as from an ethical standpoint.

This is why the movie was left open...... Follow Shaw to the Engineers homeworld and we could find out the purpose of our creation, and the Black Substance etc.... maybe Shaw finds the homeworld and they have no knowledge of why Mankind was created and thus also would then not know why they wanted us dead, because they dont even know about us... The potential is huge.... Or they could follow a rescue/follow up mission from Yutani/Weyland to discover what happened to Prometheus.... They find the Goo or they come across that Xeno Organism. At the moment its left open... The Xeno could be... 1) Already happened and connected to the downfall of the Engineers at that outpost... 2) Already happened but not what led to the Engineers downfall. 3) Yet to happen as the Proto Xeno from Prometheus is what eventually gives rise to the Xeno from Alien. Thats why the clues are not explained fully its all left open so as that at least those 3 scenerios are what explains the Xeno..
