vickers is a synthetic, and some more

Well its all open as to if Vickers is a Andriod..... We have to see what Ridley has to say about that.... I would assume that she is not, and the movie is just hinting she may be. So i think Vickers is not a Andriod at all.

Vickers is clearly quite hurt and jealous at the attention her dad has laid upon David. Perhaps because of a perception he favours David more than her, has caused her to be cold and somewhat cruel ( to David ). I think her character was a great basis from which could have emerged an unlikely hero. Instead she seemingly gets killed. Thereby negating the possiblity of her survival in the Life Yacht, which they set up early as being capable of sustaining life for about 2 years.

I don't think she's synthetic - she's a tense control freak, driven and jealous of her father trusting David more than her. Also she has a libido, and a synthetic would probably have the speed of thought not to run in the same direction as the giant rolling ship, and do, as Shaw did, run to the side. As for asserting that Weyland has already transferred himself into cybernetics, that makes no sense... why would he make himself a wrinkly old man, and why would he say he wants to be cured and live forever by meeting his makers if he'd already solved the problem of imminent death?

because being syntetic is an another thing, living forever is another.

I actually think most of what Vickers really is and what really happens to her is on the cutting room floor. What happens to her is not what happens to her...if you know what I mean ;)

Actually I don't get what you mean. Please expand I'd be interested, because my theory is that her stupid death was down to poor writing. I think the writers painted themselves into a corner. There's no reason for Vickers to stay on Prometheus for the Kamikaze attack. She could go to her lifeboat, rather than an escape pod (and then try get to wherever the lifeboat ends up - that worked out in a corny 'steam roller' death). But had she gone to her lifeboat, she would have been in there with that huge monster that Shaw had in her, and if it killed her, it would have spoiled the surprise set up for Shaw finding it and using it to kill the Space Jockey. They didn't want Vickers to survive to the end of the film, so they squished her in a pointless scene, where we already had one woman being chased by a giant rolling ship, but she was smart and calm enough to run to the side (despite having given birth and being stapled only hours before.) whereas, the smart, driven, athletic Vickers just kept running straight, before being squashed crying "no, no" in a pathetic ending.
