MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 4:12 AMLoved Prometheus but had to leave shortly before the end due to a medical problem. The last thing i saw was David telling Elisabeth that he can pilot a ship to get them out of there. What happens after that? Thanks

Nostromos
MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 4:41 AMElisabeth went back to the chamber to retrieve David. David said he and Elizabeth could go back to Earth but Elizabeth said her destination was the Engineers' home planet, not Earth. She said she wanted to know why the Engineers tried to wipe out human beings. So, the two got on another spaceship and headed to the Engineers' homeland.
Meanwhile, an alien bursted out from the chest of the dead Engineer and the movie ended at that point.

MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 5:02 AMow yeah, i keep forgetting that last alien chestburst. really added nothing to the movie

MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 5:17 AMDavid told her that there are more vessels on the planet and could bring her home to Earth. But she declined and asked im, whether he could navigate her to the homeworld of the Enginees. He said yes and they took off in another Space Croissant that flies very fast with booster.
Then it goes back to the dead Engineer where a a humanoid chestburts out looking less biomechanic but has a long head like the Xenomorph without eyes but the tip of the rearhead is very sharp pinpointed.
Then the jaw of it comes out a bit, hinting of the double jaw function of the Xenomorph later on.
So that one is a protoform Xenomorph.

MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 5:26 AMThere's also a scene showing them exiting the Space Jockey's ship. She is lowering Davids body on a cable, and is talking philosophy with his head (for the benefit of the audience really, she shouldn't be so calm with him, after he killed her boyfriend, surely?)
He asks why she wants to go find more os the engineers, and she says' they made us, then changed their minds. I deserve to know why'
David says this is irrelevant.
Shaw says, its relevant to her because she's human, and he's just a robot.
There's another light hearted moment (again I think inappropriate) where she is putting his head in a bag as she prepares to abseil down. She's zipping it up and says "sorry" in her annoying meek voice, and he says he doesn't mind, as the bag closes on his face. This gets a giggle in the audience from some people, but I thought it was ridiculous considering how she should be feeling about this cold untrustworthy killer.
We then get treated to hearing Shaw record a log "as last survivor of the Prometheus" in a poor rip off of Ripleys "Last survivor of the Nostromo" where she tells us it's New Years Day, (so about 5 days seem to have passed that we know nothing about - where they may be prepping a ship for launch etc) and she waffles on in a meek voice, absent a hard egde in its tone, about going on to find things out.
THEN we cut to the lifeboat, where the giant facehugger thing that was lying on the dead spacejockey (almost entirely covering him, if you recall) has conveniently disappeared, giving us a clear view of his chest being ripped open, but not by a small chestburster as seen in every other film, but by an Alien with fully formed limbs abotu 5 foot high, differing from the ones were used to, it doesn't have the very prominent 'tubes' on it's back and it's head is tapered to a point at the back, and it has a second set of jaws, slightly smaller than the first, as opposed to the long extendible, penile tongue with smaller knashing teeth at the end. of it.
Roll credits.

MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 5:53 AMContinuity...Is the ship that we see in Prometheus the same as that in Alien? I'm assuming it is, but that would beg the question how come the space jockey's out of his chair when he dies from chest burster. Mmm. Confused.com!

MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 9:46 AMI don't think this is the same planet from Alien, and Aliens, LV-426( but I could be wrong). There were many Engineer's ships on this planet, so it is possible one of the earlier infected Engineers had already left in one and landed on LV -426. As poster mentioned , in Alien the Space Jockey is in the Chair with Chest Bursted, and in Prometheus the Engineer is in the Lifeboat, with Chest Bursted.

MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 9:59 AMIt's not the same planet. In Prometheus they go to LV-223 and as stated earlier, in Alien the planet is LV-426.

MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 4:18 PMThe ship that david and shaw leave in....i assume has the eggs onboard-unbeknownst to them, and shaw is in the pilots chair being directed by david, or possibly david lets the egg loose on her as she is restrained in the chair, and it crash lands on lv-426, and david puts the warning beacon on to stay away,
and shaw NEVER gets to the engineer homeworld, and the engineer homeworld (if there is one) has no idea what has happened on their laboratory planet .
BOOM!
THE END.
