Prometheus has received better reviews than 98% of these movies! I think I'm safe and I like alot of these movies I have listed.

That's a claim I'd like to see backed up - especially since many of the reviews of Prometheus are still being written. Prometheus is visually spectacular. It is better than many of the movies you've listed (not that it would be hard), and it shares many of their faults. The Hollywood system aims to please its prime demographic - teenage boys - and increasingly serves up empty CGI spectacle in place of stories with ideas, characters or even coherent plot. Prometheus is a good movie with some deep, fatal flaws. What is so frustrating to many of us was that it could have been a GREAT movie.

They only good ones are District 9 Sunshine Moon Pandorum ( the fountain and source code are not exactly sci fi ) Prometheus is still better than Sunshine .... Moon is also not exactly sci fi ... Distric 9 also even if it have aliens ( great movie btw ) Pandorum have some big flaws even if excellent parts So Prometheus is easily the best pure Sci fi movie of the last 12 years

yeah fountains not strictly sc-fi but it has a sc-fi billing on the back and the makers claim it to be in the sc-fi genre, so i include it in my list. Inception lies in that grey area to. Kpax, to is about a mentally ill guy who has suffered a major traumatic event and believes himself to be an alien to prevent himself facing the disturbing facts of his past that he's buried deep within his sub conscious, good film though.

i have to disagree with you there frantz i mean hundreds of cloned beings stationed on the moon in cryo sleep with a only a computer for company that's pure sc-fi in my book. And if district 9 isn't sc-fi i don't know what the hell it is then.... ive never in my life met anyone that wouldn't think it is sc-fi either..... congratulations you're the first lol.

it is all sci-fi, because we are all out there in deep thought and mind to see it. we know what to look for when we watch these movies,it like a unique trait for some of us,yes?

None of those movies were any good...you call yourself sci-fi lovers? Laughable. Solaris was good, doesn't come close to the original by Tarkovsky though (and the book of course). Seriously, if you sincerely loved any one of those movies, that explains why you'll love Prometheus. You wouldn't know sci-fi it it wrapped itself around your arm and put a tentacle in your mouth.

The last 12 years you berk read the thread header jdog the original solaris was forty fucking years ago. How can anyone take your comments in the slightest bit seriously when your observation skills are so poorly in evidence you cant even understand the fucking topic .
