the walls are alive
MemberOvomorphJun-07-2012 10:14 PMI didn't much care for the mummies and pyrimids in space, its been done ALOT!!! I wanted to see more biomechanical technology/monsters and I didn't see much of that, at least showing why there was blood all over the walls of the medical bay when Shaw looked in the window. I almost feel like there is an entire scene missing where Shaw's baby kills a bunch of guys. I read a bunch of bad reviews and resigned myself to the notion that it is not what I was anticipating but at least I would get to see a space jockey in the suit kicking some ass. NO not even more than a few seconds of footage of a strapped in jockey.
Im sick of this bullshit concept of ancient civilizations being visited by aliens and that is how they built all this stuff. Chariots of the Gods was written almost 50 years ago and they think they can just reintroduce that again and call it original. Even AvP implied this same concept.
I feel comtempt for Prometheus and the writers the more I think about the whole thing.
The head scene was creepy, Shaw's surgery was a little hard to watch and the faceplate melt was cool.
The creatures themselves were also uninteresting and typical. Cobra hugger seems to be there almost as filler, same with the mutated Geologist. Shaw's baby can be found at any Hong Kong supermarket.
The pace it was shot with did make my hair stand up in places but I as a hardcore Alien fan am quite put off and I think the average casual movie goer will be equally unimpressed.
