QUESTION!!!

Xeno-Dork
MemberOvomorphJune 08, 2012964 Views13 RepliesI'm pretty sure the red-headed guy turned into a hulk/zombie-like mutant...
The scene I'm talking about is when they put the door down and a body is just laying there, then it stands up and wrecks shop.
Which guy was that, and any thoughts as to how and why he mutated to that form and didn't have a chestburster come out of him instead???

It was Fifield...the mohawk guy. He washed his face in a puddle of black goo and had his DNA changed.

Yes, that was Fifeld.
Why woud he have a chestburster? It was the guy next to him that got impregnated by the snake-like thing.
Fifield got his helmet and face melted with acid and then fell face first into the black goo, which supposedly zombified him.
The question to ask about that scene is why did the open the door, when the cameras clearly showed him folded up in an unnatural position?

It was Fifield. There's no reason for anything to have come out of his chest. The only purpose of the worms was to show what the goo could do and kill off some characters.

Yeah that makes sense... I remember that scene now where his helmet melted onto his face...
I thought that was pretty interesting though that he mutated the way he did, he didnt just die like the scientist guy who David infected. I guess him being burnt to a crisp prevented him from turning into a mutant too then???
That black goo is some wild and crazy sh*t!!!

So are we saying that the black goo turned the worms into those snake-like things then??? You saw worms earlier in that room right, or was I seeing things???
June 08, 2012
It was the worms from when they first walked in to the shrine. Holloway ingested the GOO just like the creator at the beginning, he went through a similar process before getting cooked.

i still don't think the good surrounding the ampoules is the same as inside the ampoules

ShinobiX9X : Janek saw via computerchip is fifield, so he opened[/i]
That's one of the stupidest parts of the film. Either an editing error, or they're telling us that Janek is a very slow thinker who is not very observant at all.
Janek says that, they Fifields locator is outside the door (funny he didn't notice that it was on the 3D map ever since they left the ship, - which makes a mockery of two crew getting lost)
Worse, Janek then looks at a holoscreen showing the view from an external camera... this is BEFORE the cargo bay opens, and there's Fifield bent over like a rag doll, but it takes several more seconds before Janeks says "wait a minute" .
I could forgive the actor for this error, because obviously when they shot the scene, there is no floating holograph that he is looking it, but the way the shot is edited he (and we the audience, can clearly see Fifield with his knees over his shoulders, before the cargo door even STARTS to open.
More pointless stupidity, that only serves to drive a set piece of gore.
And seeing as Fifield was later able to stand and jump like a Ninja, there's no great reason for him to be at the door folded up like somebody bombed a game of twister. He could be lying down, or standing... The audience, should already be expecting trouble, so they don't have to make him weirder, unless it's to show us that the Captain is incompetent.

I thought that was pretty crazy how Fifield was folded like a pretzel on the ground when they opened the door. Fifield should have gotten really big and tall though.
Reason being because the worms got all big like long snakes, so it would have made sense he got bigger too.

yes and one of the mercenary was killed bu fifield but then he is with weyland in another room, how they don't see that?

-Captain opens door to previous missing crew member.
-Scientist(s) take helmets off on Alien planet with no real tests or research.
-Scientist pats a hammerpede.
-Scientist rushes to temple just before dark.
-Geologist gets lost in a cave complex
Yes, there are some strange plot holes
